With slow and steady steps, Athena-sama and I carefully walked through the dungeon. well I was being careful, the girl was just down right nonchalant and playing with her metal rod.

Noticing how carefree she was I decided to just be silent about it, she was in for quite a shock.

Inside this tunnel was really peculiar, it was made of wood,the roof was made from what seemed to be the roots of the very tree that led us here if that was even possible.

It was dark in here with our source of light being the algae that grew literally everywhere in this cave or whatever this was.

After walking for abiut a minute more we finally come across an old wooden door that looked like it was gonna collapse at any moment but somehow was still standing. Reminds me of the old people back in Nigeria.

Placing my hand on the door I finally get the notification i had been waiting for

“I feel like the system doesn't like you very much” , Athena said with an awkward smile

The feeling is mutual, the hell is wrong with this Ai?, sounds like a teenager on thier period working a night shift.

Seen my fare share of teenage girls I guess.

After cursing at the system a bit more in my mind, I finally open my status window.

Ignoring the annoying system tho Im almost level 10, and I didn't even have to do much. Looking at athena-sama, she had that care free look on her face, seems like she doesn't realise how big of a deal reaching level 9 in one is. Logically speaking it is impossible, ye you heard me right, impossible.

The levelling system in rebirth online was tailored to be very hard, a regular solo player would need at least a 5 days of grinding at least 5 hours a day to reach level 10. With every monster killed the exp needed to level straight up doubles, ewch level only granted 2 stat points too.

Well thats how its meant to be till level 10. Once a player hit level 10 the entire game would take a huge turn for them making everything thing else seem like a completely different game.

“Well are we going in or what?“

U should probably use your stat points before we go in, takes a bit getting used to.

“Oh yea I almost forgot about those” she replied with a slight giggle.

Ignoring the girl I entirely focus on my status screen, my new stats to be exact.

I could clearly feel my self grow stronger as my muscles contracted, I felt slight pain and then warmth as heat overflowed into my body causing all my senses to become heightened. This wasn't good news for me tho since I could feel the pain on a whole different level.

Gritting my teeth I let out a slight growl trying to endure the pain that besieged me.

Normally I shouldn't be feeling this kind of pain but I gotten my stats a bit too fast leading to all of them taking effect at once.

I got way stronger but it came at a price too.

After 2 minutes the pain just magically dissapeared just as it came, looking to my left I could Athena-sama lying on the ground while breathing heavily.

“Fuckkk youuu!!!, why didn't you tell me this would happen god damn it?, I thought I was gonna die back there”. “ What kind of shittty game makes you feel pain like its real??”.

She seemed a bit pissed off at the moment.

You can just tune down the pain sensitivity you know, I'm guessing you didn't really read the manual at all.

“ What manual?“

Shhh forget it, how do you feel?.

“Like s**t”.

Not that I mean do feel any different? I clarify while rolling my eyes at her.

“Now that I think about it, I do feel like a super soldier on steroids”. “How is this possible I thought stats were just numbers” she said while swinging her first around in an embarrassing attempt to shadow box.

Stats are very much real in rebirth online, just wait till you hit level 100.

With that said I move to the wooden door and open it.

Walking in with a smirk on my face.

My adventures have just begun.

Ignoring the notification I check out my surroundings while Athena-sama is still revelling the realistic power system of the game, I don't think I can count on her for this fight at all.

The room is small, no bigger than 3metres in each direction. It was eerie like you'd existence from a witches hideout, it had different tubes and glass containers with body parts of different creatures.

Not to talk about the altar right in front with blood stains all over the thing. Im seriously getting spooked out, of course I won't say that out loud.

Looking behind me, the door seemed to have dissapeared, I guess running isn't an option at this point, how bad can it be anyways it's just a newbie dungeon, and my stats are through the roof.

[ Difficulty go the dungeon Alfonso's lair has been scaled to meet players level, there no cheating the system. Goodluck to your party……I meant that].

“…”

“ What did you do to piss of the system?, it seems to really Abshire your existence”.

I was about to find a good reply to that question when the whole room rumbled, and a blinding flash of black light which I had no idea was a thing erupted above the alter.
