Jihoon sat in his dimly lit apartment, the flickering light casting shadows on the walls. Jihoon knew he had to act fast. After a restless night, he made his way to Café Seoul, the meeting place David had agreed upon. As he arrived, he glanced around nervously, hoping for a glimpse of the man who held the key to understanding his family's tragic past. At precisely 7 p.m., David Kyung strode into the café, flanked by a bodyguard. The air grew thick with tension as their eyes met. Jihoon took a deep breath, steeling himself for the confrontation. “David,” Jihoon said, trying to sound more confident than he felt. “We need to talk.” “Do we?” David replied, his voice laced with sarcasm. “You blackmail me, and now you want a chat?” Jihoon felt anger flare. “I’m not here to play games. I’m here for the truth. My family was murdered, and you know something about it.” David sighed, glancing around to ensure they were not overheard. “Your father was involved in things far beyond what you understand, kid.” “I understand enough to know that he was killed, and you were involved,” Jihoon shot back, his voice rising. David leaned back, studying Jihoon’s face. “What do you think you know? That it was just random violence? Your father got involved with powerful people, dangerous people. I didn’t kill him, but I know who did.” “Tell me their names!” Jihoon pressed, desperation creeping into his tone. “It’s not that simple,” David replied, his expression hardening. “If I tell you, you’ll be in grave danger. Those men don’t just kill—they erase you.” “What do you mean?” Jihoon asked, his heart pounding. “Your father made a deal that got him killed. If you keep digging, you’ll become a target too,” David warned, his eyes dark with concern. Jihoon felt a wave of frustration wash over him. “I’m not afraid of them! I need to know the truth about my family.” David paused, weighing his options. “Look, I need time to think about this. If I decide to share what I know, I’ll text you tomorrow. But promise me, you have to lay low until then.” “Lay low? How can I when my life is at stake?” Jihoon shot back, feeling the weight of the situation. “I’m serious. Trust me. Just wait,” David replied, standing up. “I’ll be in touch.” After David left, Jihoon’s mind raced. He had gotten closer to the truth but felt no sense of relief. What if David chose not to share the names? What if he was playing him? That night, Jihoon returned home, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on him. He decided to check his phone, hoping for a message from David, but instead, he received another text from the unknown number. "You're getting too close. The game will be easy if he reveals the name, right?" A chill ran down his spine as he read the new next message: "Too late now. I didn’t want him to speak up; I thought he would be harder to crack. I wanted you to post the video and destroy his image—that was the plan. But unfortunately, he chose to help you, and I can’t let that happen." Panic surged through him. He knew he had to act fast. Just as he was about to respond, his phone buzzed again. This time, it was a photo—a gruesome image that made his stomach turn. It was David, a bullet wound visible on his forehead, lifeless and motionless. Jihoon dropped his phone in shock. “No… no!” he gasped, struggling to comprehend the horror of what he was seeing. Jihoon realize that The unknown person has no real intention of helping him. They're simply manipulating him to dispose of David, ensuring that neither they nor anyone else gets involved. Desperate for answers, Jihoon decided to reach out to David’s secretary, hoping she might know something. He quickly dialed the number he had saved from their previous conversation. “Kyung Industries, how may I help you?” the secretary answered, her tone clipped. “I need to speak with someone about Mr. Kyung. It’s urgent!” Jihoon urged. “Mr. Kyung is unavailable. Who is this?” she asked, her voice growing colder. “I’m Jihoon, the one who—” “Ah, yes, the young man who blackmailed Mr. Kyung,” she interrupted. “I doubt he would want to speak to you now.” “Please, I just need information about my family!” Jihoon pleaded. “You should have thought about that before you involved yourself in such matters. I can’t help you,” she replied, her tone final. Frustrated, Jihoon hung up, feeling a wave of despair wash over him. The walls were closing in, and he had nowhere to turn. Suddenly, his phone buzzed again. Another text from the unknown number: “You should’ve known better than to play with fire, Jihoon. Keep digging, and you’ll get burned.” With each message, the threat felt more real. Jihoon clenched his fists, his mind racing with thoughts of revenge and justice. The next morning, the news was all over the headlines: David Kyung, CEO of Kyung Industries, found murdered in his home. Jihoon felt a mix of anger and fear. David was gone, and he was no closer to uncovering the truth. But then Jihoon remembered the last words David had spoken to him: he would think about revealing names. Maybe there was still a chance to learn who was responsible. Determined, Jihoon began to formulate a plan. He would go to Kyung Industries and confront the people who worked there. He needed to find someone willing to talk, someone who might be scared enough to reveal the truth. Later that day, Jihoon arrived at the sleek corporate building of Kyung Industries. His heart raced as he walked through the glass doors, feeling the weight of the atmosphere around him. The employees moved with purpose, but Jihoon felt out of place. He approached the reception desk, where a young woman looked up, surprise flickering across her face. “Can I help you?” she asked, her voice professional. “I need to speak with someone about Mr. Kyung’s murder,” Jihoon replied, trying to keep his tone steady. “Do you have an appointment?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. “No, but I have—” he insisted. “I’m afraid I can’t let you through without an appointment,” she said firmly. “Please! It’s urgent! I—” Before he could finish, a figure emerged from the crowd. It was the same secretary he had spoken to on the phone. “Step aside, please,” she said, her voice cold as she approached Jihoon. “I don’t know who you think you are, but you need to leave.” “I just want to find out what happened to David!” Jihoon pleaded, feeling desperation creep in. The secretary’s expression softened for a moment before hardening again. “This isn’t the place for you to dig into things you don’t understand. Trust me, you’re better off staying out of it.” Jihoon felt a surge of anger. “Better off? My family was killed, and now David is dead!, The man that can give me an information about what happend to my family, How can I just walk away?” The secretary sighed, glancing around nervously. “Look, I can’t help you, but if you really want to know, there are whispers… Just be careful. With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Jihoon standing there, heart racing with a mixture of hope and fear. As he left the building, Jihoon’s mind raced. He had to get those ****** . He needed to dig deeper into the shadows surrounding his family’s past. But as he stepped out onto the street, his phone buzzed again. He hesitated before looking at the message. “Keep searching, Jihoon. You won’t like what you find. You’re already in too deep.” The weight of the unknown pressed down on him. He was no longer just a curious victim; he was in a dangerous game that could cost him everything. And as he walked away from Kyung Industries, he couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching him, waiting for the right moment to strike. ---
