ROSALIE's POV My eyes kept darting at the bar’s door every time it swung open and shut. Michael had said we’d discuss the details the next day, but nearly ten days had passed. As usual, the bar was filled with men who worked for Michael and Marco, laughing and talking among themselves. But the moment I walked by their table, everything shifted. The way they straightened up or stopped talking made it obvious that Marco had warned them. It was ridiculous that I was still trying to make sense of his actions. I didn’t even know him.
