His treatments so far had made him stronger than before, his condition improving, but strength was just a cruel measure. His body might recover, but his heart carried a weight twenty-five years old making him feel weak. Briella was coming, but she wasn’t coming for a visit or for comfort and It made him anxious. She was coming for the truth he had buried and sworn never to speak of. How would he be able to look her in the eyes and tell her that he had lied to her all life. And what she knows now is the truth. The door opened and Dalton stepped in, his face pale and his breath uneven. “Sir… the driver and Miss Briella haven’t arrived. And they’re not answering their calls.”
