Evander POV
I might not be able to ask it because Flora wanted me to only stick to this game or whatever this fake dating means… no asking of personal questions, no prying into each other's privacy…
Damn it!
I snapped out of my thoughts the moment camera lights began flashing on us like we were the reason the party was hosted and not for Sea’s win.
“This isn't the way you hold your boyfriend's hands,” I let go of her hand, staring right into those amber eyes. “Wrap your hand around my neck,” I paused, studying her face.
I hate that I am doing this with someone like her. From the day she slapped me, I disliked everything about her.
She is the least lady I want in my space, let alone putting up an act with.
But Flora said if this doesn't go well, not only would my fifty thousand dollars be gone, but also those brands I work with, the million-dollar deal, and our team, which doesn't have a major supporter and sponsor, would all be gone.
“If you are going to act like my girlfriend, act it well, Cal,” I leaned down to her height before whispering, trying to concentrate on this and not the words circulating about us in the crowd.
One which hit hard was ‘Evander would never stoop so low as to date a girl like this. He has a standard; think of the girls whose hoes he has wrecked.'
“Remember you weren't paid fifty thousand dollars to act like a saint,” I whispered again with a soft smile, my hands holding her waist firmly.
Even though I am supposed to be on the ice practicing like I mostly do, this was kind of working. Everyone's attention was on us. At this point I would end up being the most talked about hockey player.
“I might be an actress… but I have never acted like a fake girlfriend,” she finally whispered after giving me a moment of silence.
This was it! This was all the reason I was never interested in this… After making my research about her, I had my reservation.
First, she was a very bad actress with no convincing profile aside from being Legendary Ryan Van's daughter, and lastly, why did she request such an amount of money when her father is amongst the world's top ten wealthiest hockey players?
“Do you know how to play hockey?” I suddenly ask because I have no better way to explain to her.
I have never dated any girl before. All I do is f**k… f**k… f**k…
Why be with one lady when I can taste all the real deal?
“I don't care about learning, though, maybe a little bit from what I saw West play,” her voice echoed faintly. “Why do you ask? How has that got to do with acting like your girlfriend?”
“You shouldn't have taken the job if you were going to be such a hard nut to crack, Cal.” Without giving her the chance to ruin this moment, I pressed my body forward, just a little closer to grabbing her thighs apart. “Follow my lead.”
“Now, smile, give the best smile you have, especially one you always had on when you come,” I whispered, my hands moving gently just two inches up and back to the original position in slow motion. “Tighten your hand around my neck like you are holding a stick.”
She did that without questioning. Damn it, all she needed was a good director.
“Good. Now, tiptoe and read my lips. Repeat after me word for word,” I maintained the same posture, the same smile, my broad shoulder making it easier for her to tiptoe.
“I am not supposed to be here with you, but I can't live without you. You are my everything, Evander…” she paused, taking a deep breath, the kind of inhale that sent heat across my body.
Watching her body, our skin pressing against each other, I felt my d**k erecting, my heart beating like this was meant to be no different from the girls who always present themselves to me… like a puck on ice.
“I get the media misunderstood, and I am sorry I didn't give you the chance to explain. I was furious about my brother… fu… yeah,” my facial expression changed the moment she almost ruined my plan.
“Now kiss me,” before I could scream at her stupidity, she continued. “Kiss me so I would believe you were truly sorry. You meant everything you said outside earlier.”
I smiled at the change of plan. I lowered my body to her height so she would lower her toe, within a second I crashed my lips on hers, kissing her.
I deepened the kiss, taking the lead. She moaned in my mouth, tightening her grip around my neck.
I didn't stop, not until she was out of her breath and her face was flush pink.
I broke from the kiss, held her hand before finding our way through the crowd who took their time to watch my timeless act.
“You know we are not supposed to kiss. Like, all we have to do is act lovey-dovey. I just hope they buy the twenty-minute show we pull up,” she said, moving her body to the background music.
My gaze fixed on her body, staring at every move, every feature, every curve like I wanted to memorize her, I muttered, “It looks like you don't get what this was, right?”
“You should even be lucky to have spent such a moment with me. Many girls would die to have just a minute of me holding them, let alone a kiss and in a public space,” I added with a smile, spelling everything out to her.
The only difference between me and Ryan Van when he was a star hockey player was him never being a playboy.
“Lucky?” She chuckled. “The lucky one here is f*****g you! You should count yourself lucky to have kissed a girl like me because I am different from those ladies you f**k in the locker rooms.”
“Cal—”
“We aren't close enough to be calling each other nicknames,” she corrected me, smiling even though her voice revealed anger and irritation.
“Okay, Calista. Do you want to bet?” I closed the gaps between us. “You see these legs of yours, you would spread them and beg me to be inside you. Just watch.”
“I am Evander Alex. I make stuff like that happen, and you won't be the last.”
