It was time for Spirit care and battle. Last night, Cole and I saw the new "The Walking Dead" movie, and that was amazing. It was like a vampire/zombie romance, where the main characters loved each other, but their families forbade them to see each other. Anywho, Cole, me, Gav, Emma, Frost, and Cea had classes together. We entered the classroom, which was really a bare room with 1 big table. The teacher, Mrs. Shona only took 6 students at a time.
''Hello Cole.'' she said.
"Hi Aunt S." Cole responded. Mrs. Shona was Cole's aunt. Anyway, all of us sat at the table, waiting to start.
"Okay. We are just going to practice making ourselves invisible. It's a skill needed if you're going to hunt vampires and defeat Fern.
For this, you have to have confidence. Courage. Passion. You have to think about defeat. Think about being invisible, then know you're invisible. Then attack." Mrs. S explained, demonstrating. She went from human, to spirit, to air. I looked at Cole, who looked at me. We shrugged.
"Kathryn, would you like to try?" Mrs. S asked, back in her body. I nodded. I got up, slid out of my body, and focused. I thought about Alice, the way she died. The way she suffered. I thought about being invisible, and felt myself... fade. I opened my eyes. Mrs. Shona had a proud gleam in her eyes.
"Kathryn, please go back to your seat. Excellent job." I slid back to my place by Cole, who smiled at me.
"Moving on. In order to become invisi-" Mrs. Shona gasped.
"Stay calm. I am going to escort you to Cole's room, where you will remain. I will send your animals to you." She said.
"Why?" Emma asked.
"It looks like vampires are surrounding the academy.''
"Then we're fighting. We should send out the best team of animals with those who are able to fight" I said. After some hesitation, Mrs. S nodded.
"I'll tell my sister. Leave your bodies in Cole's room and wait in the cafeteria. Find anyone who can fight." she ordered. Everyone nodded, all ready moving.
We left our bodies in Cole's room, and found a total of 3,000 students to fight with.
"Arm up. Everyone who stays behind will help the infirmary. I'm sending out 10 people at a time. Cole, Kathryn, Oceana, Hauns, Gavin, Emma, Sevda, Duaa, Doug, and Mrs. Sevvas, go and clear the front, so I can send out more people." she ordered. All 10 of us nodded, moving out quickly, meeting the monsters in the middle. I palmed two daggers, and hacked off the head and legs of the monsters nearest to me. As I was hacking, I thought about the invisibility trick. What if I could do the same thing for shape-shifting? I tried it. When I looked up, no vampires were attacking me. I looked into the blade of a clean dagger. I was a vampire. I thought about being me again, looked, and I was me again. I fought my way over to Cole, and explained the trick to him. He tried it, and it worked. I realized...
"Only attack the red eyes. We have gold eyes." He nodded. Then, we went opposite ways. I went one way, sneaking behind unsuspecting vampires, ashing them. Whoever had been attacking the vampires always looked at me, preparing to kill me.
"I'm not a vamp. Fight red eyes not gold." I said, turning into myself. They always nodded, passing along the message.
Three hours later, all the vampires were ashed, with Cole and I turning back into ourselves. Only 1 student had been killed, but it was enough. His name was Justin, and was Cole's cousin. I rushed to Cole, who was kneeling over the black-haired, green-eyed boy. Mrs. Shona was also kneeling over him, sobbing into her son's chest. Cole was looking at him. I kneeled next to him.
"C'mon. Let's go to our room and protect ourselves from this." I said, tugging him to his feet, towards our room. It looked like our friends had already retrieved their bodies. Cole looked at me... without looking at me. He had a glazed, far-away look.
"Cole?" I asked gently.
"Remind me it's not the end of the world." he whispered. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Your alive. I'm alive. And Cole?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said.
"I need to shower." Cole smiled.
"I know. You shower while I go help my mom." he said.
"I don't feel well enough." I said, pretending to fain, flopping on the bed. Cole laughed, leaping on me. He gave me a soft kiss, before saying'
"I got you something." Cole slid his hands under the pillows, pulling out 2 violet collars, as well as a white watch, and a bracelet.
"They're trackers. The bracket and watch is for you. The collar is for Alice. I already have mine and Rebel's."
"The watch is to see where you, me, Rebel, and Alice are. And I can track you." he explained, gently securing the watch on my wrist.
"I'm not a baby." I grumbled.
"I know. I just want you safe," he said.
"Well, I don't like your stuff to keep me 'safe'" I air-quoted safe.
"They keep you safe, don't they?"
"I wish you didn't have a solid point." I grumbled.
"Do I?" Cole asked, smiling.
"Yes..." I sighed. Cole smirked.
"Well, I'll leave you to it. Text me when you're done," he said. I nodded. Once he left, I put the collar on my cat, and took a shower. But before that, I had to feed the kittens. Then I took a shower. Anyway...
