Chapter 12- Flash Back

574 Words
After dinner, Cole and I decided to take a break after our conversation. Despite my efforts to block it out, I found myself unable to sleep as memories I had tried to suppress resurfaced. It was at least 2 months before Cole had to move... I had been walking to his house to say hi. When I got to the house, I heard giggles coming from Cole's room. I walked towards his room, thinking it was just Cia and Cole. I knocked on the door and opened it. The sight that met me made me choke. Cole and a girl I didn't know were kissing. Cole was kissing her, not me, his girlfriend. "Cole?" I gasped. He jerked away from the girl. The girl smirked as tears streamed down my face in disbelief and betrayal. When he saw who it was, guilt shone in his eyes. "Oh Coley. Don't worry about her. I'm the one you want. Remember?" The girl cooed, caressing his chest. He looked at the girl in confusion. "Who are you?" he asked. "Kia, remember? Your real girlfriend?" Kia crooned. "I already have a girlfriend. Therefore, get the heck out of here." Cole demanded. Kia's smirk turned into a frown. Cole scowled at her, and eventually, she walked out, tripping me over as she did. I started to fall and would've if Cole hadn't caught me. I jerked away from him in disgust and hurt. "Get away from me!" I shrieked at him. He stumbled back like I had hit him. "Kathryn?" he gently enunciated. "No! Stay away from me!" I wailed. "You're a cheater, a two-faced liar, and a jerk," I screeched. "Kathryn. Seriously. I was drunk." Cole revealed. "But why?" I asked. He paused in disgrace. "Because I haven't seen you in 3 months. I thought you were dead, cheating, or hurt." "Well, I was hurt. I had hopped on my bike when I heard you had taken a blow to the head, and a car hit me when I was coming. I fell into a ditch, broke my hand and collarbone, and a big blow to the head. Then I come to see you the moment I am released from the hospital, and find you kissing another girl." I sobbed. "WHAT!" he roared. I cringed. "You're saying that you were put in the hospital, for my recklessness," he said quietly. "Yes!" I exclaimed. "Look at me," Cole ordered. I refused. "Look at me," he said. I shook my head. "Kat. Please," he asked softly. I gave up and looked at him. And gasped. On his bare chest, KC was tattooed over his heart. I swooned but became suspicious. "What was the girl's last name?" I asked. He racked his brain. "Kia Cann I think," he said. "So those are her initials," I said quietly. "What? No!" Cole exclaimed. I fell onto his bed. "Right," I said, cringing in pain as I fell on my stomach. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Look at my back and you tell me. Am I okay?" I deadpanned. To my surprise, he did. He hissed in a breath when he saw my scratches, but gasped when he saw my tattoo. I have a fiery phoenix on my back, with Cole Tillight spelled under the wings in flames. "You went through all this. For me," Cole muttered. But after that, I couldn't remember the rest. I specifically remember the pain of the betrayal though...
