Third-Person Point of View
A few minutes before Elena drowned, Drake came to the river bank to make a call. He had just returned to the water when Elena suddenly slipped. Being close to her, he could act instantly to help. Despite knowing that Elena was an excellent swimmer, the sight of her struggling in the water caused him to forget this fact. His only thought was that the person he loved more than his life was in danger. Reacting swiftly, he dove under the water, grasped her hand, and pulled her up. He gently supported Elena against himself, noticing she didn't seem well. Worried, he swiftly carried her to the river bank and gently laid her down.
Looking at Elena's unresponsive face, his heart thumped in his chest with fear.
