I felt bad for Zane. Seeing how much effort he was putting into protecting me, our son and the pack. The responsibility as Alpha was choking on him and it was becoming obvious, even in his appearance.
You could see the exhaustion in his eyes, and I knew that he felt that all this was his fault for not being able to protect Kai and I.
