"You perverse son of a b***h!" Jessy's pissed voice echoed and drew the restaurant's customers' attention. The man was knocked off the floor after she threw a quick punch in his face. And realized she was the centre of attention at the moment. She glanced at the manager who arrived at the scene. 'Dang, I'm dead,' she cursed, seeing the serious expression of her boss. " What kind of mess is that? Is that the way you serve your customers?" The manager shouted to her. Her eyebrows frowned at the thought. " That creep slapped my butt. What do you expect me to do ? Erect with his behaviour? No f*****g way! You know what, I quit! " she exclaimed furiously while she took off her apron and left the manager dumbfounded. She had been working as a waitress for almost three months at a Dining Inn restaurant. It was her source of income to provide for her sister's medicine maintenance. Her sister Jerra was fifteen years old and suffered from dissociative amnesia.Their parents were killed when both of them were seven and sixteen years old, without having a hint of reason. Thereafter, she started to look for a job and took responsibility to provide her sister's medication and their needs. Terribly, an impertinent customer pesters her and that causes her to be unemployed. She was exasperated to the point she punched him without thinking of the consequences. Now she's back from job hunting again. 'Where am I supposed to look for a job now? My sister's medical fee will be at the end of this month,' she shrieked as she tried to think of a plan, sitting on the vacant seat at the children's playground. Jerra was bedded in a non-federal long-term care hospital, at the age of nine, where symptoms of her illness started to appear. Fortunately, three of the private doctors provide some free medication two times in three months. It was charitable to Jessy, since the fees were expensive, she couldn't make it without their help. Jessy grew up being a maverick woman. What happened to their parents' proclivity to her how to survive on their own. At the age of twenty-four, she is wiser and brave enough to face what life throws at her. She is one of heterochromic people who have different colors of eyes. It was turquoise in the right eye and plain hazel in the left eye, which easily attracted attention. The small scar under her right eyebrow added a mystery to her persona. Silky black-haired waist, and her warm beige skin complexion. She was a slender, small - breasted girl. And she moved unpredictably. In fact, she was full of flaws. But her fragmented aura could effortlessly attract anyone. Her face was dreary and lovely with bright things in it, wearing a clever smile. Indeed, a cognizant, brave woman. In the midst of her thoughts, her phone rings, which creates a distraction for her. Dr. Kelley's name showed up on the screen. Eagerly, she hit the answer button. "Yes Doc? Did something happen?" she asked impatiently. (I called you to tell you that there's bad news and good news) Dr. Kelley started. Her heart started to beat in the race. But knowing there was also good news helped her to cope with the tension. " Go on with the good news. Tell me about the bad news afterwards," she said. ( "The good news is, the new research treatment for dissociative amnesia illness will be started three months from now. It has been proven that it could cure those people who have dissociative amnesia, since the trial treatment has been done and reported. This is a lifetime opportunity for Jerra to have this chance.") She did not realize her tears were dripping upon hearing the good news. In fact, it carries away the burden she felt earlier. " That is really great news Doc. I am pleased as punch to know that. What about the bad one?" she joyfully questioned. (" The bad news is that it needs a huge amount of money. But there is hope. We know you've been doing your best to provide you with your sister's medication. I talked to Dr. Jones and Dr. Cassy earlier and they are willing to help. So there's not much burden anymore.") Dr. Kelley explains which also made her sob through the call. She was not crying about the bad news, in fact, it was all good news for her. She was overwhelmed by Dr. Kelley's help together with the other doctors. Despite experiencing a conflict in life, there are people with big hearts at all times who get her back. " There's not many words I can say but thank you so much Doc. I am very grateful for meeting you." sincerely she expressed in tears of joy. ("We wanted Jerra to also be cured Jes, so that's the only way we could do it. She is young and innocent. She deserves to live her life to the fullest despite the unpleasant circumstances. We will be observing tests for her starting tomorrow, till the upcoming treatment, so your only chance to give a visit is today only. Until then, you can't visit her until the treatment process is finished. Are you free somehow?") nodding her head, she stood up and composed herself. " I will be there, Doc. Thank you", she stated, and ended the call. She looked up at the cleared scene of the sky and inhaled deeply, casting away the burdens and worries she had been carrying all the way. The sun's warm rays touched her face and granted solace to her. For a moment, she felt calm and at peace. She rarely let herself be emotional, she was an intrepid woman who managed to show a stolid face in front of everyone. But expressing the reasons that have been holding her back, helps her get back on track. After permitting herself a minute to ease, she managed her way to the bus station and took a ride.
