By the time Carter pulled into the driveway he was exhausted. He had called Kinsley to let her know he was running late. A few emergencies came in as he was trying to leave. It wasn’t in his nature to just walk away when there was a crisis. At least the day had flown by and all his patients had been easy to care for. He thrived under that kind of pressure. It was where he felt most in his element, but now he was ready for some one on one time with Kinsley, preferably in bed.
