As his fingers made contact with her Glock, Happy softened his grip on Maggie’s neck. She gasped as her senses returned. Yanking her head free, she bit down hard on the fleshy part of his left hand. He screamed in pain. Jerked his right hand away from the gun and made a fist. “b***h! I’ll eat your heart while you’re still alive.”
As he c****d back his fist, she stretched for the weapon and touched it. Without hesitation, she grabbed it, and shoved the barrel in his face. She inhaled and choked. “Get off me.”
Happy’s eyes widened as he rolled away. He put up one hand. “Take it easy.”
