Salvador Romero occasionally wrung his hands over his head, atop his buzz cut hairstyle, in what Pari assumed was a nervous gesture. Too anxious to sit still in a meeting after dinner, Salvador had eagerly accepted Pari's suggestion that they take a twilight walk on the beach. Campbell joined them, but closed his notebook and held it at his side throughout the stroll.
"I want to begin with two things you mentioned last night in the same breath," Pari said. "After Danica threw the wine, I changed into a clean shirt and then rejoined you and some of the others on the plateau. First, you said you may be the only person in the group, besides me, who does not have a 'bone to pick' with Bruno. Then you added that if you lost your job you would go back to painting."
