“Prepare the bows; we are going to hurt,” I ordered my beta, who made the arrangements immediately.
My father taught me how to hurt, and it almost became part of me.On that day, instead of finding an antelope, I found my mate.
My mate, I have been searching for years. She was so scared when I held her in my arms.
I could feel the bond but got disappointed at her scent. She smells like a human.
I didn't chase after her because she needed time to digest whatever, and I felt she was running away from something.
After a few minutes of us being apart, I just felt her. She was in trouble.
I rushed over to save her; a black wolf who wasn't two times my size was over her.
I quickly changed to my wolf, howling at it, and roared loudly, making the birds fly away in fear.
He instantly knew I was an Alpha and quickly ran off instead of positioning for a fight.
He knew I was going to rip its heart out if he tried.
I went back into the woods and transformed into my human form, watching her from the branches.
She was scared of her bones. She picked up her phone and quickly pulled a call through.
I began to stalk her; she's my angel. I asked my beta to find out more about her.
I traced her to the bar she went over with her friend.
I went over to talk to her but was stopped by her friend, and in seconds I didn't know what happened to me.
“Can I buy you a drink?”
“Sure,” Bella replied.We went over to another table far from Selina.
I couldn't tell what came over me, but it felt like I was enchanted.
We drank silently when I felt something, a pain and a scream in my head.
Someone is hurt. Someone is calling on me to save her.
I got up wondering what I was doing with the woman in front of me.
I ran off to meet my mate, surrounded by three men who wanted to take her.
They would wish they never laid a hand on my woman.
I grabbed one by the neck, constricted its airpipe, and squeezed him for their life.
He gasped for breath. Hitting him on the wall.I grabbed the second and the third.
By the time I was done with them, they had severe head injuries.
“We are sorry, Alpha; we didn't know she's your girl,” they all begged at the same time, but I let them go, giving that as a warning.
“The next time you get an inch close to her, we won't be able to see the daylight,” I threatened with my Alpha's voice.
They all ran off, leaving me with my mate.
I picked her up in my arms; she looked so frightened, and the only place we could have some atom of privacy was in the restroom, and ever since that day, she has been in my head.
I watched her sleep, though I had to invade her room, but I wasn't sorry about that.
I watched her body twist beneath the sheet, and then she jerked awake in embarrassment when she noticed me.
“How did you get in?” Her question was answered when she saw the window wide open. I drew closer to her.
“I can't get you off my mind.” A gasp escaped her lips.
Her eyes filled with so much desire as her breathing quickened. She stood to her feet.
“Is that what you tell all the girls?” She asked uncertainty if I just wanted her to warm my bed, but I wanted more from her.
I want her as my Luna. I tucked her hair behind her ears, and she melted to my touch.
“I'm drawn to you; you're my mate.”
“Your mate, what is that? You don't even know my name.”
“Darius Voss and you're Seline Rivers.”Her brows creased in confusion with her lips slightly parted.
I smiled to myself, knowing my next move was going to torture her.I ran my hand over her shoulder down to her neck. I could feel her pulse.
“Are you sure… You weren't daydreaming about me.” She jerked with her eyes wide in embarrassment.
The way her body reacted to my every touch. She practically melted in my arms.
She wanted me the same way I wanted her.
“You're just going to break my heart.”
“We are bound together. Nothing could break us. Shut your eyes; let me show you.” She obeyed, and I allowed her to feel the bond between us.
I drew closer to kiss her when a shrill voice interrupted us.
“Selina, are you okay…?” Bella asked.
“Yes… I'm fine.”
“Are you with someone? I could hear another voice.”
“Um… no… I was just talking to myself.” I picked her up from the floor.
“Hey, where are you taking me to? My…my friend is at the door,” she resisted.
“You will see.”I took her to my packhouse. I knew it was difficult for my pack members to accept her since she was just a weak human, but she was going to redeem me from my curse.
Jason, my beta, knew about her the same as his mate, and I strictly warned him to keep it a secret till I figured out how to handle the elders and my pack members to accept her as my Luna.
I went over to the high priestess while Jason watched over her.
“Alpha,” she bowed when she noticed me.
“How may I be of help to you?”
“I have found my mate.”
“She's human; she will only break your curse if she carries your pup, but she will die before the pup is born, but there is only one way.”
