“This world is not the same as ours,” Caulette said.
“Obviously,” Brocc said as they continued through the rice paddy. Light began to bloom on the surface of the water and rise up into the air in wispy circles, like cotton.
“How are you in regular form?” Brocc asked. “Why aren’t you a spider?”
“I have been separated from my physical self,” she said.
And then Brocc noticed that her body was translucent. The light passed through her, and for a moment, he could see the rice paddy through her torso.
“Nutrizeen,” she said. “Nutrizeen separated me.”
