Lara Stella put her hand over Mint’s mouth as they hid behind a wall.
Lara Stella put her fingers to her mouth and shushed her.
Graeme and the artichoke crouched in the shadows nearby.
Lara Stella rested her back against the wall.
A clicking sound passed in the street nearby.
A pea pod contorted into the shape of a praying mantis passed, clicking its teeth. Its wings flapped erratically, creating an artificial wind.
The monster was on the prowl.
Luckily, the artichoke had seen it.
They were only a block away from the safety zone. So close!
Her heart raced.
