Gabriel
Cecilia slept soundly next to me. She was still in her dress and shoes but her hair was a disheveled mess around her face and on the pillows.
I had seen her asleep only once and it was a month after she had been married. We had both been reading in the library, quiet and comfortable, when I heard her light snores. There was a beautiful way in with her lips pouted and eyelashes rested on her cheeks.
She had looked so at peace that I wished I could stop time and let her sleep forever. She was always on the go, always observing and on the defensive that it was a sight to see her resting. And now next to me, I wished I could stop time once again. I wanted to live in the moment forever where I’d wake up next to her, the light rays of sun shining off her dark hair and feeling her warmth so close to me.
I had never longed for a woman this way before. I had never burned the way I did for her or dream of someone as much I did of her face.
I reached over and caressed her cheek. “Oh why wasn’t I the one who had met you first?” I whispered.
She fidgeted a bit in her sleep but didn’t wake.
“I would have courted you in a way worthy of a queen. You would have never doubted my devotion to you from the moment we met.” I continued to whisper to her.
And it was true.
If I had met her first, if I would have caught a glimpse of her from across the room, there would have been nothing to stop me. No man, woman or force would have kept me away from being near her. And even now, as she was a married woman, and married to my friend, I still couldn’t leave her. There was no limit to my devotion to her.
“Gabriel?” Cecilia whispered.
Her eyes fluttered open, revealing those beautiful green gems, and she smiled.
“How long have I been sleeping?” She asked.
“Only a few hours.”
“Hours?!” She gasped.
I shrugged playfully. “What can I say? I wore you out.”
Cecilia blushed but rolled her eyes. “That’s only because I’ve never experienced anything like it.”
I grinned. Of course she hadn’t.
Her husband didn’t know how to please her, no one did. Her body was an instrument that only I knew how to play.
“So I take it you enjoyed yourself?” I asked grinning.
Her face turned red and her eyes widened with excitement and lust. She inched closer to me and I could smell the fragrance off her skin. “Most definitely.”
“Good.”
“But we didn’t get to you.”
I looked at her confused. “What do you mean?”
“You didn’t enjoy yourself, not the way I did.”
“Why would you think that?”
She looked down and shrugged. “Because… I thought a man had to react a certain way when he.. enjoys himself. At least, before anything else.”
I groaned. Leon was truly a fool. I knew he didn’t make love to Cecilia, but I didn’t think he’d completely make her feel useless.
“What should I have done?” She asked.
The shame in her voice made me grit my teeth. She should never even have to think about not being able to satisfy a man. Her smile alone could send a soldier over the edge.
“Nothing Cecilia. You should have done nothing.”
“But..”
“But nothing.” I tipped her head up so she was looking at me straight in the eyes. “I enjoyed myself, completely. I was satisfied with watching you, pleasing you, feeling and kissing you. That is more than enough to satisfy me.”
Her emerald eyes widened a bit in hope and wonder. “Really?”
I nodded and caressed her jaw. “Truly.”
Unexpectedly, she leaned forward and kissed me. The kiss was eager and warm, it was an invitation for me to go further.
“Gabriel I want to feel more… more than before.”
“Cecilia… I want to. But,”
“But what?” She asked, kissing me again. “I want you, and you want me. What’s the issue?”
I smiled, happy to hear her say that, but I still shook my head.
“You’re married silly girl.” I said nodding towards the ring on her finger. “I know that didn’t stop us before, but we have to think now.”
She froze and looked down at the ring. She looked at it as if it were a strange animal that was on the verge of the attacking her, but before I could say anything she took it off and threw it across the room.
“Cecilia!” I gasped getting up. “Why would you do that??”
She got up and grabbed my hands, pulling me back to her. “Please, leave it where it is.”
“It’s your wedding ring!”
“No, it’s a reminder of my life outside these walls. A reminder that when I go home I’m to walk in silence and look around every corner preparing to face the monster I call a husband.”
“Cecilia please…” I pleaded as she kissed my neck. When she threw the ring I felt my stomach drop, I was reminded of the sin I was committing and involving her in.
She was married. She was young and pure, I was the corrupt man in her life that had taken things too far and involved her in my fantasies. I was older, I should have known better.
But as she continued to kiss me I cared less and less. I couldn’t care anymore that Leon and her were married. That she had made a vow in front of God to remain faithful and true to another man or that I was dooming us for eternity. I couldn’t care because all I could focus on was the feeling of the woman I loved pressed against me.
So I kissed her back, hard and desperate to please her again. When I gently pulled her hair and kissed her neck Cecilia let out soft moans that was like music to my ears.
“Gabriel?” She gasped when I kissed her shoulder.
“Yes?”
“Take me.”
I froze.
“What?”
“All of me please. Let’s get out of here, take me anywhere. But please, just take me. Every part of me.”
