Cecilia
Gabriel looked at me with panicked wide eyes. He stopped breathing and even paled a bit.
“Gabriel?”
He didn’t move and a part of me froze too. What had he expected me to say? What else would have I had to say to him?
I wanted to reach out to him, to calm him and bring him back to reality but I decided that touching him was probably not the best choice at the moment. So I sat back and let him compose himself. His face went from red, to pink, then back to normal then yellow. He looked.. sick.
“Gabriel?” I asked again but softer.
He didn’t look at me at first, but after a couple minutes of taking deep breaths he finally looked up. His brown eyes were wide and still full of confusion. Which led me to be confused.
“What did you think I was going to tell you?”
Gabriel opened his mouth a couple of times, not fully being able to talk. Then he began to stutter out his words. “Well, uh, definitely not that.” He shook his head quickly. “Definitely not that.”
I eyed him curiously again. “Then what?”
He ran his hair through his pale blonde hair and let out a deep breath. “I expected you to tell me to leave you alone. To.. never talk to you again. That what we did was a mistake..”
My mouth dropped open. “Why would I ever say that??”
Now his mouth dropped open. “Because it was! Cecilia you’re married!”
“To a monster!”
He took a deep breath and looked away. “You’re married nonetheless. I shouldn’t have overstepped.”
“I kissed you Gabriel. I started it.”
“I shouldn’t have done it either way, it was wrong of me.”
I felt anger begin to bubble in me. “Well we did it. What’s done is done.”
He nodded but didn’t look at me. Minutes passed and he never looked my way. I gritted my teeth, trying to will him to look over. But as I did, I couldn’t help but notice how good he looked. His pale blonde hair was messy and sticking out in different directions, his thick brown eyebrows were furrowed, his long yet perfect nose aligned with his sharp jaw and his lips.. they were so full and plump. The light hitting him through the trees made his extremely pale skin shimmer and when the breeze blew his manly musk surrounded me. I got shivers up my spine the more I looked at him. Had he always been this handsome?
“You should leave,” he said, his voice firm but sad. “I think it’s best you leave.”
My stomach dropped and I looked at him in shock. He wanted me to leave?? How could he say that? This was not how I planned on things to go.
“No.” I said.
He looked at me so quickly it made me jump. “No?” He repeated.
I looked at him dead in the eyes and shook my head. “No.”
He rubbed his eyes and then his face. He looked completely flustered and upset. He stood and held out his hand. “Come Cecilia. I’ll take you to your carriage. You must head home.”
I gritted my teeth. “No.”
His nostrils flared. “You’ve done everything you needed to do here. Now please, you must go.”
I crossed my hands over my chest and sat back on the chair in a completely unladylike manner. “No. I’m not done here.”
“What more is there to do??”
“If you’d let me talk and stop assuming things then you’d know!” I snapped.
Gabriel took a deep breath but didn’t say anything. I knew he was giving me the opportunity to talk. So I turned and looked up at him-I looked into those beautiful brown eyes.
“I came here, with a proposition.”
“Yes I know. You want us to sleep together. It’s not going to happen.”
I stood up and faced him angrily, “why not?!”
“Because you’re married. To Leon. He’s my friend and it is unacceptable, completely unforgivable!”
I laughed and threw my hands up in the air. “It’s not like Leon loves me! He won’t care. And to be honest, he’s probably been sleeping with someone else too!”
Gabriel looked away so I grabbed his face with my hands and turned him to me. His eyes were soft, warm but confused. And a little scared.
“Gabriel, we’d be so good together. I know you felt it. It was all in that kiss.”
“Cecilia..”
“You know I’m right. You wanted me.. you still do. I’ve never felt anything like that before, I’ve never wanted someone so badly.”
Gabriel closed his eyes and took deep breaths. His hard and strong chest went up and down and I could feel his strong heart beating through my dress. I felt him, every part of him and I wanted more.
“Look me in the eyes and tell me you don’t want me Gabriel. Do it and I’ll leave.. I’ll leave without another word.” I said. I dropped my hands and stepped away. I wanted him so much that it hurt to breathe but if he really didn’t want me, I’d walk away.
When I let him go Gabriel opened his eyes. He looked so lost, so tired and defeated. Like he was fighting something he was doomed to lose.
“Tell me to leave Gabriel. That you don’t want me.”
He laughed softly and shook his head. “You know I can’t say that.”
“Then what’s stopping you? Why won’t you have me??”
His brown eyes pierced through me and he shrugged. “Because you’re not mine to have.”
“But you can! You can have me! I’m right here!” I stated. Tears started to fill my eyes. “I’m standing right in front of you, telling you how much I need you and.. you keep pushing me away when I know you want me!”
He began to walk towards me but I kept talking. “I know you want me! I felt it when you kissed me, when you touched me and even when you look at me. But why won’t you take me now??”
Before I could continue his lips crashed on mine. Gabriel pulled me in close so that my body was molding into his and the way he gripped my hair with one hand and held me on my lower back gave me butterflies. And I felt my brain melt when he bit my bottom lip and then devoured me in another kiss.
When he pulled back I felt lightheaded and his eyes were wild and glossed. Both of us were breathing hard and his masculine scent surrounded me while his body warmth radiated off his skin. He kissed me once more before he spoke.
“Because if I take you now Cecilia.. I’m never going to let you go.”
