Pack BBQ - Secret Lover

A few hours later, and I was walking towards the bathroom connected to my room. 

“I think it’d be best if we cooled down whatever this is.” I said before I crossed the threshold of the bathroom. 

“I knew something was bothering you. Why do you think that?” 

“Because the games are coming up. And I need us to be completely focused on that and getting the rest of the pack ready for us to be away.” 

“Is that really all?” 

“What else would there be?!” I asked. I continued walking into the bathroom and started the shower. Stepping under the hot water I let the water relax my tense muscles before i felt his arms wrap around me from behind.

“Well, Max knows you’re doing something with someone.”

I let out a breath and dropped my head back against his shoulder.

“Would it be so wrong to be together in public?” 

“I...I…” He started kissing my neck and shoulder making my mind become clouded. 

“I want them all to know…” he said, grabbing my breasts and squeezing my n*****s making me moan. 

“Know what?” I said as I arched my back and pushed my ass towards his already erect member. 

“Know who’s name you scream at night.” his hand slid down my stomach and grabbed hold of my p***y causing me to moan out as my hand reached back and grabbed his hip pushing him against me.

I turned around and glared at him, “Get out!” I said to him through clenched teeth.

“NOW!” I screamed in my Alpha voice. His head dropped and he quickly left. 

I stood under the shower, trying to calm my nerves. Well, there goes that…My wolf Rose said to me.

I rolled my eyes at her and quickly finished washing up. She was right, I needed to talk to him and make sure we were ok. Even if it meant we were only okay as friends. I refused to loose him too. 

*We need to talk* I mind-linked Jake.

I wasn’t in my office for more than 2 minutes before Jake came walking in. “What’s up?”

“Jake. Please, I’m sorry.”

“Nikki, you’ve made it clear. I’m sorry. I crossed the line. I never meant to, for a split second Kurt took over and wanted you as ours. Not saying I don’t. But I know where you stand and I respect that.”

I took a step towards him, placing my hands on his biceps and sliding them up to his neck. “I don’t know what I want exactly. Part of me wants to let you claim me and be my chosen mate. But part of me…”

“Rose…” he interrupted.

“Rose, she loves you...but not in the way mates should love each other. So for that I am sorry.”

“It’s okay, I promise not to cross the line again.”

“So...we’re ok?” I asked while looking up at him through my eyelashes.

“If okay you mean I’m still your kickass Gamma that rocks your world whenever you call...then yeah.” He said with a laugh and slapped my ass.

“Gamma.” i replied back.

“Sorry Alpha.” He replied while leaning down to kiss my lips.

We stood there making out and groping each other before my office door flew open, making us jump apart.

“Well, well, well….I KNEW IT!” Max shouted. 

“MAX!!” I roared. 

Jake took a step back, feeling my Alpha aura seep out of me. I was furious with my brother. 

“Nikki, Jake...how long has this been going on?” Max asked shutting the door behind him. 

“What the f**k do you think you’re doing?!” I screamed.

“Ok, so this…” Max said pointing between Jake and I. “how long has it been going on?” 

“What is it any of your business?” I questioned.

“I am your brother, plus the three of us are ALWAYS together...so how did I now know?” 

“Max, it’s…”

“3 Months.” Jake responded and I shot a glare at him.

He just shrugged his shoulders, “No one else is to know.” Jake finished.

Max looked between us again, “You don’t want the pack to know?” 

“No.” I replied. “We’re not choosing each other as mates, we’re just living.”

“For how long do you plan on...living” Max questioned.

“Again, what does it matter to you?”

“Because we’re a team. I need to know what is going on in our team. What if you two have a falling out and we can’t work together?!?” 

Max had a point, I know he did. It’s something I’ve thought about since the very beginning. 

“You’re right.”

“What?!” they both said.

“I should have told you, I, we...it just happened and then kept happening. But I think after today, we need to cool it.” 

Jake hung his head as I turned towards him. 

“Maybe after the tournament we can talk about the possibility of an us.” Making him look back up at me. “I love you Jake, whether Rose agrees with me or not. You hold a special place in my heart.” 

Jake agreed to take a break from us and just focus on the challenges. That would allow the three of us to work together and build stronger team for the fighting. I needed him to be my Gamma, not my boyfriend.

Jake left the office, leaving Max and I alone.

“Why can’t you be like a Male Alpha and get with lower pack members. You know, not my best friend.”

“You’re best friend is my Gamma. My SINGLE Gamma. We’re always together. Plus MALE Alphas, as you so put have male Betas and Gammas...you forget I’m one of the only female Alpha’s around. It’s harder for us, to find someone...especially having gone through what I did.”

“Nikki, I’m sorry.” Max said to me wrapping me in a hug. “I didn’t mean anything by it, it’s just awkward as f**k now.”

“Well no one told you to just walk right it.”

“Were you never taught to LOCK your doors?!”

We both laughed as Hannah came walking into the office. “You guys ready for this BBQ?!? I’m ready to eat a house!” 

I laughed harder at my brother’s pregnant mate, “You’re always ready” I laughed to her.

“You try eating for two.” She replied 

I just smiled at her and walked towards the door. “Let’s go.” 

Arriving at the BBQ, pack members were already gathered around and talking amongst themselves. I walked to the little stage and took my place as their Alpha. 

“Blue Ridge Pack Members Happy End of June!” They all cheered. “This month sure has flown by! Gamma Jake will be posting the list of those competing in the Annual Tournament that takes place every 10 years, which is taking place in 2 months. We will be offering transportation for all challengers as well as their families and anyone who wants to come watch the games, or even take this opportunity to find their mate. HOWEVER, not everyone is allowed to go. We need to make sure those who stay behind are protected. If you would like to come, please see Gamma Jake, Beta Max, or myself about getting an application so we can process everything and get head counts. Competitors, i want a list and forms filled out for who in your families that will be joining you by the end of the week. Before everyone starts filling out forms to go, I wanted to let everyone know the host pack. It will be Alpha Carson and the Black Moon Pack” 

I could hear gasps from all around. They all knew who Carson was, especially who he was to me.

“I expect all of our competitors to train hard and kick ass. There will be a special competition this year, to take place after all the other events; a fight of the Leaders between each pack. Rules have yet to be announced about how they’ll go about that for the 10 packs going. But it should be entertaining to say the least. Your Gamma, Beta and I will continue to train hard to show not only the Black Moon Pack, but every pack that we are and will always be the strongest of warriors!” 

Cheers and screaming erupted throughout. I loved my pack-members and I would do everything within my power to make them proud. 

I walked down from the stage and got in line with Max and Hannah to get some BBQ. 

“Would you like your meal to be brought up to the office Alpha?” Charlie, our head cook asked when he saw me in line. 

“No thanks Charlie! I’m going to stay for the BBQ tonight.” I said to him with a smile.

“Perfect Alpha, enjoy!” He said to me with a big smile. 

“Why do I feel like I’m out of place?” I whispered to Max. 

“Because you never join in. So they’re not sure what to do.” 

“How should I let them know it’s okay to be themselves?”

“YOU’VE BEEN ICED ALPHA” Jake said while handing me a Smirnoff Iced drink. 

I looked at him like he had three heads. 

“Chug it” Max whispered into my ear. 

I smiled and took the drink from Jake’s hands.I twisted the top off and chugged the liquid contents, the second the bottle was empty and I wiped my mouth the pack-members around us started hooting and hollering. 

I smiled at them, grabbed my food and sat with my beta and gamma to eat. 

Throughout the night, I was Iced multiple times. By Jake, Max and members of the pack. We spent the night dancing and singing and I couldn’t believe I allowed myself to not enjoy the monthly BBQ’s.

“So, Alpha...will you be joining us again at the end of next month?” Tracy asked. Her and Shane had joined our table. Jake’s hand secretly laid on my knee.

“Yes! I think I will be Tracy, and please just call me Nikki. I know all of my members and the respect you all have for me.” I said to her with a smile.

She smiled back.

“I was actually thinking,” I started.

“Oh no!” Max interrupted.

I shot him a look, “The tournament is in 2 months. So we’ll have the end of June BBQ then we’ll be leaving for Black Moon Pack territory July 30th so we wont be here for the end of July. But maybe we could have a special BBQ in honor of those competing.” 

“That sounds like a wonderful idea” Charlie advised, as he sat down a platter of snack foods. “I can come up with a special menu themed after the tournament.”

“Oh that’d be perfect!” I replied with a big smile. 

“Sounds like a good plan.” Jake smiled at me while he squeezed my leg.

I know we had said no more, but what could one more night hurt? I thought to myself.

*My room, 10 minutes* I said to him through mind-link.

He sent me his signature smirk. 

“Well, I had a WONDERFUL night with everyone. But I’m afraid I do have to retire for the night. Alpha duties don’t wait for anyone and i have lots to plan for the upcoming events. Charlie, as always perfect BBQ. Great dancing Tracy, Shane. Hannah, make sure Max carries you home and gives you a foot massage!” 

“Oh great idea Nikki!” She said with a huge smile.

“Ghee, thanks sis.” Max mumbled.

“Jake...have a good night.”
