"Thought I was the only one."I muttered nervously, as I walked closer. " You have been avoiding me princess." He stopped picked up the ball. "No I have not." I am not very good when it comes to lying, especially when his eyes is on me But I lie a lot tho. " what do are you doing there? " He shoots the ball into the net. He's pretty good, I have no idea why he keeps on rejecting the basketball team offer, they are giving a one way ticket to highschool fame. "Practicing a new routine for the game on Friday." I huffed out, dropping my gym bag in frustration "Can't wait to see you in those cheer leading outfit." He stops giving me a smirk before shooting the ball into the net, while talking to me. Wow "Show off." I smirked at I went after the ball and picked it up, I turned to him, he gave me a confused look. "Let's play." I smirked as he scoffed. What are you doing Melanie? "What, you chicken?" I throw the ball at him. "Let the games begin." He smirked. ••• "Where did you learn to play like that?" Bryce asks as we walk out of school. "Why surprised? My dad taught me, we used to have family sport weekend." I smiled as all memories came back to me. Wish I can go back to those days, before the pain, depression, punches, cuts, when I could care less of what people say, when I would cry over teddy bears, when its not bought for me, not now that I cry because I feel ugly, lonely, fat, I wish I could just go back. I snapped out of my thoughts when I realized we were in front of a Ronge Rover, I raised my eyebrows in confusion. "Didn't bring your motorbike?" I asked as I entered the sweet ride. "Pink." He muttered "What?" I asked in confusion. "My little sister spray painted it pink." I let out a laugh as he glared at me. I closed the door waiting for him to get into the car. I turned to the window, I looked at the lights of the city. Its a beautiful world but I just don't feel it right now, don't think I ever will. "Can we not go home right now?" I turned to Bryce. Melanie, I'm starting to think you like the punches. I just want to live life a little even if it's the last chance a get, so punches and ap just come with the package. "Are you a mind reader, princess?" He smirked, I flinched when I heard him call me a princess. I'm not a princess, I'm far from being a princess, I'm just a flawed human. I gave a fake smile as I pressed a button to let the window down. "What are you doing?" I heard Nate's voice. I didn't brother replying, I stuck my head out the window as the breeze rushes directly on my face. Can this feeling last for ever. I screamed in happiness, as tears dripped down. Just a little taste of freedom, feels this good, I wonder how real and absolute freedom feels like. After what felt like hours, I finally let my head back in. "Someone's wild." Bryce smiles, I looked as his face, he looks great when he smiles, he should do it more often. "Where are we going?" I asked as I looked at the road. "Well, you'll see." He winked at me. "Just in case you are planning something, have in mind that I had karate lessons when I was young." I joked. "Noted." He laughed. ~~~~~ The car finally stops, I got down in shock, as I stared at the hill in adoration. "Let's go up." I said excitedly. "Easy, princess." He calls out as I started running up. I finally got up the hill, I looked at the sky in adoration, I have a better view of the stars. I heard Bryce footsteps, after a few seconds I felt his presence. "So slow, pussy." I teased, as I laid down, resting my head on a rock, I looked up at the sky. "Says the girl that is high on something." He jokes as he sits down. I laughed. ••• It felt like hours as be both laid down, staring at the stars in perfect silence. Can this night last forever? I finally broke the silence. "This place is beautiful, how did you find it." I faced him, our face inches part. I gulped. "I didn't, Charlotte did. She's the adventures type." He turns looking at the star, I did the same. "She's so nice" I smile. "That she is princess, that she is." "What about you does this work?" He points at my cuts that have been hiding. I didn't bother denying. I don't knpw why, I could just walk away but it's of no use or maybe I wanted to share my feeling of nothingness to someone. "Nah, it doesn't even work anymore." I shrugged as I stood up. I am glad he left it at that, no futher questions, I slowly walked to the edge of the hill. "Princess, what are you doing?" I heard Bryce call. " Relax, I'm many things but not suicidal.." I looked at the beautiful bottom of the hill, I won't lie that it didn't cross my mind to throw myself down but I wouldn't. ~~~~~~ "No she didn't." I laughed, it being long since I have laughed like this. It feels good. "She dragged my ears until we got home." He laughed. "I love your sister." I continued laughing, then I finally stopped. "So tell me, did you go to juvie?" I asked. "Nah, when I was recovering in the hospital, no one knew what happened so they just assumed that I went to juvie the rumor went round, I went with it." He shrugged. "Oh." I muttered. "So you and Nate, how long have you guys been dating?" He smirks. A shiver went down my spine once I heard his question. "How did my boyfriend get into this conversation?" I looked away, hoping he would drop it. "I'm just wondering why?" I looked at him in confusion. "Why what?" I stood up and dust off my jeans. "Why you would let him hurt you." I froze when I heard his reply.
