"A double date, seriously?" Bryce and I are currently walking home together, his car broke down his morning.
"If you didn't like the idea, why didn't you oppose to it." He gave his annoying smirk.
"Oh right, your sicko boyfriend." He commented I rolled my eyes.
"Believe it or not Nate has changed." And this time I am not lying, I actually feel he's changed.
"You sound like my mum." The change in his tone makes me realise it is something personal.
"Wanna talk about it?" I found my self asking.
"No." He said looking lost, I just wonder what's going through his mind.
"Okay." I muttered lowly like if I spoke a little bit higher, he'll break.
"Well, Nate has changed." I said. I referring to our earlier statement.
But I know I should not let my guard down when I am with him.
"Oh please, I don't know why you are still with him, just be careful." I know deep down, Bryce cares and he is just looking out for me which I am extremely thankful for.
I have always been the one to look after myself, it's amazing that I have someone who cares enough to want to do so.
It's just overwhelming.
"You know what, whatever." I whispered in defeat.
No point arguing
"On bright side, I get a front roll seat to see your failed date with Loren" I mocked.
"Watch it princess, you are sounding jealous again" I gasped, throwing my pen to his face.
"I am starting to think you have a problem with my handsomeness." He caught the pen.
"I have a problem with your cockiness." I retorted.
"Oh, please." He winked.
"You ego is enormous." I exaggerated.
"My ego is just fine, thank you very much." He bowed making me laugh.
Everywhere became quiet as none of us had anything to say.
"So best friend...." I trailed, still odd saying that.
"Apart from knowing that you are a general ass." I paused.
"Gee, thanks." He feigned hurt.
"I don't know shit." I said trying to find something we could talk about, I notice he froze at my words, the once lively Bryce was gone.
"Nothing personal, tho." I said immediately, like hell I would want to share personal info with anyone, even Bryce.
I believe he knows enough already.
"Oh someone wants to know all about the real deal." Such a ego
----------
"You found your self in the streets, how did that even happen?" I said in between laughter.
"To cut long story short, I hooked up with a red head in the bar, I had no clue her boyfriend was a real life "The rock", heavily built. The guy approached us and with one punch, he knocked me out." I laughed harder as Bryce continues to fill me in about his former school.
Apparently Jace slept with is gym teacher, don't tell anyone I told you.
"She totally punched me in the face, when I asked to see what was beneath her shirt." I laughed out again as another story rolled out of his mouth.
"You deserved it, you ass." He pouted, I gulped before turning away before I get hypnotized by his kissable lips.
Suddenly the everywhere became quiet again and it was Bryce time to start a conversation.
"Soooooo." He trailed probably thinking of what to say.
"What is your favourite colour?" I tried so hard to contain my laugh but as earlier, I let it out.
"What?" He looked at me like I have grown two heads, anyone walking will think I am insane as well.
"I never pictured you for a guy that asks type of question."
"Why?" He asked.
"Because it is lame." I rolled my eyes
"Well, I am trying to start a conversation it is not my fault that you are a bore." I gasped, placed my right hand on my chest as I feigned hurt.
"Excuse you but I am pretty interesting, Mr man ." Even I don't believe myself but I am proud of my newly found confidence, it enables me to laugh more, express myself more and all thanks to Bryce.
He is spectacular.
"Prove it." He smirked and I know that can't be good.
"I am sorry but I don't fall victim to peer pressure." Which is an hypocritical thing for me to say considering everything.
"Bore." He mocked, trying to push me to bend to his foolish will.
"What ever." I pretended it didn't get to me which it didn't but part of me wanted to be daring and wipe that stupid smug off his face.
"Bore." That word uttered again was all that was needed for me to crack.
"Okay, fine, how do I prove..." Before I could finish my sentence this ass interrupted.
"kiss me." I stood frozen only managed to ask.
"W-what?" I stuttered.
"Kiss me."
