I had no idea what to think when my mother drove us to the packhouse instead of Project Future. When we entered Grayson’s office, and I saw Riven, I couldn’t help but smile. He looked like he wanted to be somewhere else, but the second he saw me, Riven visibly relaxed. I didn’t think too much of that. I couldn’t allow myself to think about that. Grayson stood behind his desk, Blaise and Ronnie on his left. Zack on his right. I spotted my father sitting on the couch with Sierna. Curiosity piqued my interest.
What was going on?
“The hunters have withdrawn,” Grayson said once we had all settled. “But the damage they caused hasn’t disappeared. Blaise and Ronnie checked the main ward lines last night. They are holding, but some points need reinforcement,” Ronnie tapped the list.
