An unexpected discovery

[Alexander] We ran through Turnpine Forest like crazy with Alfonse in the lead, and even though it was extremely faint, we were still able to follow the trail. Leaving the pack house wasn't a walk in the park, though. It was early in the morning when we delivered our report Alfonse, usually no one bats an eye if me an Dominic leave but the guards at the gate was weirdly insistent on all three of us staying within the pack house, Alfonse thinks that we might have stumbled across the Elders dirty laundry and are definitely tied to these strange disappearances, however because of their annoying security we had to wait until nightfall to make our move and it's a good thing Alfonse has shown his stubborn side otherwise the guards at gate during the night wouldn't have been so sh*t and that's already a concern. As we ran further into the forest, the scent became stronger. [Alfonse] "We're close. Be on your guard. She could be extremely defensive and attack us. " He was right it seemed that even though she ran deep within Turnpine Forest, she never actually left the vicinity, almost as if she was trying to avoid going into the neighbouring packs territory, but I feel like there's something else. [Dominic] "It's odd that's she's still here. Could she be injured or something?" [Alexander] "I don't think that's it or the only reason." [Dominic] "What do mean, you think she's waiting for someone?" [Alexander] "It's the only thing that makes sense." As we continued to mind link possibilities, we proceeded further and further into the forest. How far did she go? But as the strange scent of chemicals became stronger another scent was introduced but this scent wasn't repulsive as whatever this chemical was, it was pleasant but too faint to work out and before I could ask if the others could smell it, a repulsive scent I know all to well over powered my senses. [Alfonse] "Rouges up ahead, prepare for conflict- ALEXANDER WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU DOING!?!?" Before I knew I found myself charging head first towards them, it seemed like my wolf decided to take control, and the closer I got, the stronger their scent became but also that new pleasant scent, Wisteria and honey suckle, it was faint but it was enough to make my wolf lose control but it couldn't be. [Alexander] "Louis, what are you doing?" [Louis] "Do you seriously have to ask?" Before I could confirm anything, we leapt onto the closet rouge, tearing his throat out. A rouge tried to jump me from behind, but I quickly dodged him causing him to crash into another rouge whilst I fought off another incoming rouge tearing his throat out, however another rouge lounged into the air, fangs and claws bared, there was no way of dodging this attack and as I steeled myself for his attack Alfonse leapt into him quickly followed by Dominic as he swated off another rouge, it wasn't long until they where all dead, and the pleasant scent was once again far away from me and my wolf was once again going crazy. [Alfonse] "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU" Alfonse Wolf towered over me. It's easy to forget that he's technically an Alpha. [Alexander] "I'm sorry sir, I know what I did was reckless -" [Alfonse] "RECKLESS YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, HOW MANY TIMES MUST I TELL YOU TO STOP GOING APE SH*T WHEN DEALING WITH ROUGES!!!" [Alexander] "I know, sir, but I swear there's a good reason this time." [Dominic] "Seriously, you having a legitimate reason, did you bang your head or something?" [Alexander] "No, I haven't." [Alfonse] "So what's the reason this time" [Alexander] "I can't say just yet, but it has something to do with the survivor we're looking for." There was a moment of silence, Alfonse wolf assessing mine seeing to see if I'm telling the truth. [Alfonse] "Fine, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Let's just hurry up and find her." We continued following the scent, but her scent, however, seemed like it was fighting with the scent of the strange chemical. Could she have been drugged? As we continued following the trail at some point, the strangest thing happened, the scent left the ground and stayed up in the trees. Did she run on the branches? We all looked at each other, knowing we came to the same conclusion. we continued following the lead, occasionally stopping and smelling the trees to make sure we were on the right path until we came to the foot of a steep mountain, Dominic and I went to examine and quickly saw there was a cave. [Louis] "She's in there." My wolf was struggling to hold it together. He seemed eager to see her. it seemed like Dominic and Alfonse had already realised that she had entered the cave, and so we proceeded to climb towards the entrance. It was a long climb by the time we got to the top the sun was already high up in the sky we expected to see her there but nothing, there was anything to signify she even stayed here. [Dominic] "Could we have made a mistake?" [Alfonse] "Let's check outside since the scent lead here." Her scent hit me stronger than ever. She's here, deep within this bolted after her. [Dominic] "ALEXANDER?!?!" [Alfonse] "It's like dealing with a pup." I could hear Dominic and Alfonse calling for me, but I didn't care. She was here, and my wolf wanted her, craved her. After a while of running through the cave we came to exit into another forest however this was a forest I didn't recognise but that wasn't important, I ran past a lake towards the big oak tree next it, she was here, she was right here, did she leave if so where did she go and why, surely she must've sensed me, surely her wolf told her- [Dominic] "You best have a good reason for -" [Alexander] "She was here, my mate." [Alfonse] "What are you talking about?" [Alexander] "The survivor is my mate." [Dominic] "...WHAT!!" [Alfonse] "That explains a lot, but are you sure?" [Alexander] "Yes, at first I wasn't certain, but every time we got close to her, her scent would ever so slightly take over that chemical scent, and now that we're here where she was all I can smell is her which means she was just here." [Dominic] "She must be your mate because all I can smell is that annoying chemical. it's starting to give me a headache." In all honesty, where I'd been so preoccupied with her scent, I hadn't noticed that whatever was still in her system was also slowly starting to affect me, just what the hell did that guy do to her? [Alfonse] "Well, if she was just here, that means she couldn't have gotten far. Let's hurry up and catch up to her." And just like that, we were on the move again trailing after her.
