As if I had any choice. “Good,” Lucy said. “Because we’ve got some work to do tonight if we’re going to turn the table on the very unfunny Ms. Gladberry.” I took my seat in class the next day exhausted, exhilarated, and terrified. It had been a long night and an early morning, sneaking out of home after bedtime, slipping into the school to get things ready in the classroom, and returning home just barely before my morning get-ready-for-school wake-up.
