'my father?' Aerabella wondered as she felt her heat coming on. no she had watched him die. she wished she was stronger so she could escape this place and find out if this was true. If he was alive, why had he not come for her. Was he the same as her? How had she not known? So many questions race through her head in the seconds before she died.
The heat engulfed her and the world around her rang loudly as she came to. Something felt different. She felt stronger. Aerabella opened her eyes to find her body was no longer a child, and she still felt a heat within her. A heat she felt she could control. Then and there she made a decition. Aerabella felt strong enough to run. Aerabella stood and nearly lost her balance. on her back were a strong set of auburn colored wings. "What?" she wondered out loud. Her voice caught the guards attention. In all the years down here in the dungeon she had never uttered a word. Before the guard could say anything, she closed her eyes and focused on the heat. She felt her hands get hot and she aimed them at the guard. Flames engulfed him and he turned to ash. Aerabella burned her way out of her cell and ran as fast as she could towards where she knew there was a hidden passageway. Only she and her father knew about it as she pushed her way through the small gap in the stone her wings got a little stuck. She had planned on flying out of here, surely that is what her wings were for.
Aerabella found the first window she could and launched herself through it snapping open the wings she had regenerated with she took off into the sky. Suddenly arrows whizzed past her a few of them catching her. one in her ribs, another in her leg , then her shoulder. she flew through the pain. she was not going to let this stop her. she would get out of here alive.

The new king watched as his most prized possession flew away from his castle. He had been naive to think she was so weak. he wondered why she had never broken out of here before if she was capable of this. Arrows whizzed from the rooftops and struck her but none of them brought her down.
"Argas! Follow her and bring her back to me!" The new king said to his Captain of the Guard. Argas and his lutenant, Kerr, both nodded and raced off after her on horseback.
................
Aerabella flew as long and fast as she could, but she felt her body giving out. she landed hard and caught every branch on her way down into the forest, but she didn't quite hit the forest floor. She landed a few branches above and felt her body give fully away to the heat. this was happening so fast, way faster than normal. The tree around her burst into flame and she barely lost consciousness and she regenerated. but when she came to her body was weak again. she was still an adult but her body was nothing but skin and bone. 'did I used too much strength in that regeneration?' she wondered as she stumbled to her feet and ran as fast as she could away from the beacon of a tree she had just created. She didn't know where she was going but she knew she needed to not be near something the new king could trace to her.
Aerabella ran for a long time but finally she was just too tired to move anymore. She curled up at the base of a tree and drifted off into a deep sleep.
................
Argas followed Aerabella as best as he could but it became increasingly hard as the canopy thickened.
"I just saw her Sir, she is still heading south." Kerr said as he caught a glimpse of her through the thickening branches.
"She can't possibly fly for much longer. We will continue in her direction and hopefully find her when she falls." Argus said then pushed forward on his black stallion.
They came to the burning tree just as the last of the Flames were going out and knew she was no longer in the sky. Argas and Kerr searched the ground for tracks.
"She went this way Kerr" Argas said then grabbed his horse and menuvered carefully through the brush following the path of destruction she had caused along the way.
