Chapter 20
Chris found himself in the waiting area outside the emergency room of the nearest hospital they could find. Jensen, the man he surmised as the bodyguard of Ms. Amy, was currently talking to the attending nurse. Drained from the scary ordeal, he took a seat on the row of chairs made for other people who were also waiting for word about their loved ones. He could still feel his heart beating hard inside his ribcage as he remembered what Jensen said earlier as they were racing towards the hospital. Ms. Amy was pregnant… Could it be…? He looked down at his shaking hands. They were stained with his former boss's blood that he got when he helped Jensen to get the poor woman inside the car. The details were not lost on him. He could still remember how he woke up alone in bed about a month ago.
