Love Finds a Way

During Aly's busy morning, her phone rang in the middle of her sketching.
An unknown number appeared on her screen, and she was half curious about the caller since the number was her personal.
"Hello?" she said with high tone.
"Hi! This is Cindy Manuel, may I speak with Ms. Alyssa Park, please? She said politely and Alyssa was friendly enough to introduce herself.
"Hello! This is she. How can i help?
"Ms. Park,good morning! I'm calling on behalf of MJ Builders to invite you for a job proposal briefing." And then she explained further out the job offer as they speak.
She was chosen to do the 3D mural for the MJ Builder's client- the Majestic Resort and Leisure Hotel in Hawaii.
And part of her package, she can get to enjoy the resort's facilities for free along with the free accommodation.
Alyssa didn't think twice and grabbed the opportunity to work out of town, when she realized that since the day she got engaged with Marcus, she never had the chance to be all by herself.
Now this is her biggest chance, she told herself. She will not tell Marcus about the job offer she just received. She will enjoy the 3 days stay on her own.
Beep! Beep!
"The taxi is already here!" Carmen yelled at Aly who was still in front of the cash register machine doing some auditing.
"You'll be late dear, hurry up!" Rushing her to leave.
"I'm coming!!!" she grabbed her stuffs on the table and pulled her luggage to the door.
"Got to go everyone! Take care of our shop okay! Don't forget what I asked you to do if Marcus will call and look for me." She looked at Carmen while pinching her cheek softly.
"Okay, okay! Carmen replied while rolling her eyes.
"I know I can count on you. Thank you!" She smirked before she waved her hand goodbye to her colleagues as she got in the taxi.
Feeling so excited- Alyssa took her mobile out of her bag and dialed a registered number.
"Hello, Miss Cindy, it's Alyssa Park, I'm on my way to the airport. I'll call for instructions when I get there. Thanks!"
Then she hung up and a deep sighed slipped her mouth, getting ready for her freedom.
During her trip, she allowed her imagination to flow freely in her mind. Imagining things like spending the night at the beach, sunbathing in the morning, getting drunk at the bar, dancing wild and more were the things she planned to do in her trip.
Finally, she arrived.
"Aloha! Welcome to Hawaii." A man greeted her at the Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. Chris John, the hotel's transport driver took her suitcase and open the car door for her.
"Mahalo" she thanked the man with a warm smile.
On her way to the resort, she kept herself busy by taking pictures of the nice view outside the car window. And of top of watching and enjoying the scenery, Chris and Aly also exchanged stories about their personal travel experiences, and with that – she was so entertained that she didn't realized that time was passing by so fast.
It took them almost an hour to reach their final destination, and at the hotel- everyone was excited to welcome her. They were all friendly people who were living happily in a beautiful island.
And being there was such a great experience.
"Hi Ms. Park, welcome to our resort". The lady in a coordinated blouse and skirt greeted her as she approached the reception area.
"Hi!" She smiled.
Here is your card key for the room and your complimentary vouchers for the buffet, spa, gym, and sauna plus more - the receptionist handed her a set of vouchers inside an envelope.
"Oh, thank you! This is too much." Aly said.
"Make yourself comfortable Ms. Park the hotels facilities are partially opened today because we are preparing the place for the grand opening in 2 days. But you can use all the facilities in the resort area. Hope you will have a great stay."
The resort manager called the concierge to assist Alyssa on her way to her room.
While walking her way through the elevator her mobile rang.
It was Marcus, and she was just looking at her mobile's screen, waiting for the call to be dropped.
But unfortunately, it did not. Her phone continue to ring and it started to annoy her.
So she silent her mobile, since it started calling out attention inside the elevator.
As she walked in the hallway to her room. She finally decided to answer Marcus's call. She knew Marcus very well, he will not stop until he gets what he wants.
So before she lose her mind, she answered the call to give him the doze of medicine he needs.
"Marcus! You've been buzzing me up over and over." She said with a high tone as she opened the door of her room and answer the call.
"Where are you? Marcus asked with an irritated voice after hearing Aly.
"I'm here in Hawaii" she said straightforward.
"What?" he exclaimed. "Hawaii? What the f**k!" his tone was shock and rough because of her revelation.
"I'm here for work, for your information!" She was adding a little bit of spice in her mouth and it started to upset him completely.
"Since when did you arrived in that place? And since when did you learn to make a fool out of me Alyssa Park?"
She threw herself on the couch before talking back at him "And since when you become a cry baby Marcus? What is wrong with you? Why are you getting mad?" playing dumb was her idea to piss him off.
And she made him really angry by teasing him more. "You don't know what's f*****g wrong with me, Alyssa Park!"
He hissed out of the anger that was flaring up in his head. But he controlled himself, instead...the tone of his voice started to lower down.
"Just in case you have forgotten this, let me remind you. I am you fiancé Aly, and I deserve to know your whereabouts. Not for my permission, but to at least inform me, so I won't worry too much." And those phrases that he uttered, hit her straight to the heart.
"I can't blame you, I know how much you hate Me." Completely his voice was slowly fading.
And just when he opted to keep his calmness towards her childish behavior.
Alyssa felt the guilt in her. And the next thing she does, was to apologize to him and ask for his understanding.
""I'll be back in 3 days. I'm sorry for not telling you." She started with a harmonious tone.
"Don't be upset if I left without a word. I just don't know how to explain my side, so I thought it would be better this way." She admitted, while stretching her body on the couch to rest her tired legs.
"I wanted to be alone for the time being Marcus, to find myself and to think about my future with you." She started explaining, and while doing so, she felt her heart on her throat. Nervous of what he will say to her, after hearing her reason.
"You always have place in my heart, you know that. Don't you?" she asked and Marcus gave her a short response.
"I guess so."
"Yes you do. Even if I say a hundred times that I hate you, my heart will tell me at the end of the day that I actually don't hate you."
"What are you trying to say?" he asked.
"What I wanted to say was- I need to be away from you for a while, for me to figure out my true feelings for you." She continued, and Marcus was able to control his emotions.
He decided to stop right there, the moment she begged for a few days to be on her own. And in return, she promised to update him once in a while so he won't worry.
What she actually told him was way different from her true feelings. She wasn't begging for space to think about their future. Rather, she wanted to have some freedom, because she was too exhausted with the wedding issue.
She definitely knew her feeling towards Marcus, all these years- Marcus was just a best friend to her, and no matter how close he tried to be...the love she has for him never flourish the way he wanted it to be.
"I'll think of nothing but myself for 3 days!" she said to herself, as she grabbed her coat on the rack. Preparing to leave and have a good time.
"I need a drink." She raise her hand and called the waiter's attention.
"I'll have a bottle of red wine please" Aly ordered as the waiter arrived.
For quite a while, Alyssa has been drinking in the bar all by herself, when she felt a little bit bored. So without thinking twice, she grabbed the bottle of wine and decided to get some fresh air in the pool area after paying her bill.
Feeling a little tipsy, she accidentally bumped into someone along her way to the pool side, and she poured the wine on his white polo shirt.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry!" she exclaimed
"My bad!" and she then face the man who was standing right before her tipsy eyes.
"Zack?" she shouted, the moment she recognized him.
"Why are you?" Zack suddenly sealed her lips with his finger and stared at her with his deep set eyes.
"Welcome to Hawaii!" He greeted her with enthusiasm, but she remained stunned by his presence.
"Are you enjoying the place, so far?" giving her a warm smile was the best thing she can ever have in a cold summer night.
"What's going on here, Zack? Why are you here?" and his face came near. It was so close that she could breathe the air he was breathing.
"I will move Heaven and Earth just to be with you Aly" and her heart flutters over his sweet words. But faster than the speeding bullet, she realized quickly her situation.
"Are you c-crazy?" she exclaimed.
"I think I am. Alyssa Park! I am crazy in love with you.
