Four Souls Connected

Chapter 6

Renlee showed up like everyone else at the training grounds and proved her strength. Of course, Rylynn, Angel and Renlee knew they may never be as good as their captain or the lieutenant, but they also witnessed how their captain was able to take Grayson down without an issue, which was surprising, because Grayson was a beast of man that was basically a wall of steel. However, they quickly learned how intelligent their captain was. Their captain was quiet, capable, smart, beautiful and an amazing leader. They all became very close and their spouses got close to each other. Every weekend they would all get together with their families, and they all noticed how different they were out of uniform, but their captain was still somewhat reserved. But one thing was sure, she watched Rylynn closely as if trying to mentally figure something out.

Meeting Captain Arcadia

We went to the training building where we all started today late Friday evening because Captain Voss received a call saying that she needed to be there to meet someone. When Captain Voss and her team showed up, we were met by a woman, but Maya seemed to already know her, but she only knew of her. Captain Arcadia introduced herself to us as Captain Kyia Arcadia, then introduced the teammates she had. Just like Captain Voss, Kyia still had to build her team also. Apparently, once there were five captains with full teams, we would be sent somewhere for two months and would need to participate in a battle arena, but there was one other thing. We only knew what they called it, but nothing more. It is called the bonded, there were no further explanations but that we all needed full teams and that four other captains got jobs like us. There would officially be Captain Voss, Captain Arcadia, Captain Avery, Captain Aria, and Captain Helena. Captain Voss and Arcadia’s teammates went out to the training grounds while the captains talked for a few hours.

The following days went by fairly quickly until one day we were called back to the prison in Charleston. We spent most of our time there that day, but no one knew where Maya disappeared to until a few hours later, she came back with a woman. You could clearly see jealously in Rylynn's face because of how close they were together, but no one understood that there were feelings between them and, over the nine months of Rylynn working with Maya that she got to be very close to her. Grayson and Renlee had a funny feeling that there might be a love interest, but how would that work with all of them being legally married already? What they don’t know yet is that their future is about to drastically turn.

Meeting Ivy

Standing next to Captain Maya Voss is a woman named Ivy Mayes, but they were about to learn that Ivy would be their teammate. Ivy was not much taller than the other women, had medium length brown hair, and brown eyes. Ivy was a prison guard and was excited to join Captain Voss’s team. Rylynn looked like she was ready to murder Ivy, Grayson looked uncomfortable, Renlee was rubbing Grayson’s back and Angel thought it was funny. Maya looked at her team confused but brushed it off and gave Ivy the same information as the others. Eventually, they got back into the large SUV, but Maya chose to sit in the back with Rylynn and Angel and allowed Renlee to sit up front with Grayson which is not normal for the captain to do. However, Maya wanted to talk to Rylynn once they dropped Angel off at his house.
