I have only ever been to the island of the Elders a handful of times and each time I still could not get over the Elders' eerie faces or the way they talked in unison all the time. Their skin was always painted in gold luster and their teeth were stained permanently red by the only food that sustained them: pomegranates. But most bothersome was their eyes where only the whites showed.
