Chapter 19
Even though I barely got a wink of sleep last night, I still bounded out of my bed at exactly six AM in the morning to start another school day. Or perhaps it isn't just another day of the usual humdrum I would be going through today. After all, I was gone three days so who knew what I might hve missed. And Laurie. I haven't seen or heard from Laurie since that night here at home and I feared that something might be off between us.
I had imagined the kind of school day wherein Laurie was upset with me. Then, I began to imagine passing by him in the corridor, or getting that familiar, faint whiff of him without actually seeing a smile of his directed at me.
