Pearl's PoV:
I was stupefied when I heard him say that I would marry him. It was too much for me to take. I thought that I heard wrong but alas he was dead serious. I was lost in my own thoughts when the room opened but I was just too tired to look up the person.
However that person whom I assume was a helper called out for me which caused me to look up to her. She was a petite lady maybe in her mid 50's. She looked at me with a gentle smile and pity in her eyes. I hated seeing her give me that look which made me remind of the situation I am in.
"Madam please have some food you haven't eaten anything since you are here. Please have this food, you are looking very weak." She said and I looked at her blankly.
"Thanks for asking but I am not hungry."
