Luna Serene was already seated when they were brought in. She sat in the smaller receiving room — not the grand one they had been in the day before but a quieter space, warmer, with a low fire going in the corner and morning light coming through curtains that had been pulled back just enough. Beren was in her arms, asleep, his cheek pressed against her shoulder and his fist curled loosely under his chin.
