Chapter 20
Belle stood over Captain Bernard as he rolled over and opened his eyes. It took a moment for him to understand what he was seeing.
“Belle?” He said confused. “Belle, is that you?”
“It’s me,” Belle confirmed prompting the Captain to sit up.
Still brushing the cobwebs from his mind, Bernard looked across the bed seeking the sleeping beast. More confused than he was before, he turned back to Belle.
“I don’t understand, what are you doing here?”
“I came to talk to you. Will you come with me?”
“Of course,” Captain Bernard said getting out of bed.
Belle stepped back allowing Bernard to get up. As he did, Belle froze.
“You’re naked,” Belle said unable to stop herself.
Captain Bernard looked down seeing that she was right. “I’m sorry,” he said before reaching for a robe.
