When the man and his wife saw that it was a soldier who had come seeking their help for the safety of their colleague, they quickly responded because those soldiers were the reason why they had not been killed by that evil witch. They gave the soldier all that he asked for and also offered their help to see that they saved the lives of the wounded soldiers.
Despite all their efforts put together, they were not able to save all three of them. One of the wounded soldiers who had lost so much blood was unable to make it, for he died. While the other two whom they succeeded in stabilizing, were carried into the house of the couple so that they could stay there and rest until it was morning when they would send them for proper check ups which would be conducted by an expert.
