-IRIS- "The coast is clear," Tessa whispered in her best action‑movie voice as we slipped past the main staircase and headed toward the library. She’d even dressed the part in all black, leather pants, the whole secret‑agent starter pack. The woman was on a full mission. It was the morning after I finally shoved Mark out of her house. He, Tristan, and the rest of the high‑ranking pack members were gone for the day. I hadn’t heard from Mark since, and honestly, I hoped he woke up with a hangover strong enough to knock out a bear.
