The Campus Heartthrob

Sophia Rivers walked towards the principal's office in frustration. That was a lunch Alexander King had prepared for her this morning—a delicious lobster bento. Knowing her love for lobster, Alexander had arranged for fresh lobsters to be airlifted from overseas and even cooked it himself. She had teased him earlier, saying, "Be careful, you'll spoil my appetite and I'll expect you to cook for me every day." With a smile, he had replied, "That’s the idea. This way, you won’t be able to stay away from me. I’ll make sure you’re always around." “Oh, so this is your plan? So devious!” she had playfully teased. "To keep my precious one close, I’ll do whatever it takes," he had replied, his voice full of affection. Thinking of his words, Sophia smiled lightly to herself. Why did the servants at home all seem so scared of Alexander? He was actually so easygoing... She just couldn’t figure it out. "Don’t tell Alexander about this," she muttered to the air, knowing that the bodyguards hidden in the shadows would hear her. Meanwhile, Andrew Ni had been lost in thought ever since entering the lounge. This was unusual for him, and his two best friends couldn’t help but wonder if something was wrong. The lounge had been specially built by the school’s shareholders to please Andrew and his two friends, as their fathers were the largest shareholders of the school. Normally, only the three of them and a few trusted staff could enter, and even someone as infamous as the playboy Mr. Anderson had never brought a woman here. Many girls had dreamed of being able to enter this lounge. “Hey, our Andrew Ni is staring off into space, something’s definitely wrong. Could it be that he’s starting to feel emotional?” Mr. Anderson teased. Mr. Anderson, the third heir of the Anderson Group, was well-known as a playboy. His relationships never lasted more than a week, but despite his reputation, many women still sought him out for his striking looks and enticing charm. “You think everyone is like you, always obsessed with women?” Ouyang Jun, the heir of the European Group, retorted. Ouyang Jun was known as a rare, pure-hearted gentleman, the result of being raised by a father who adored his mother. He was a man of refinement, and his graceful demeanor attracted many admirers. “I’m just enjoying life; what’s wrong with that? And those women come to me willingly—it's not like I turn anyone down,” Mr. Anderson shot back. “You’re right in your own way, but be careful. If you keep playing around like this, you might end up with consequences. Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Ouyang Jun advised. “Come on, Ouyang, it’s the modern age. It’s all about mutual consent. You’re still a virgin in your thirties; not everyone is like you!” Mr. Anderson chuckled, teasing Ouyang Jun. “Hey, Andrew Ni, what do you think? Am I right?” Ouyang Jun asked, looking for support from his friend. Andrew Ni snapped out of his trance at the sound of his name. "Mr. Anderson, you should really focus. Let’s head to class." With that, Andrew Ni stood and left. “Hey, Ouyang, don’t you think something’s off with Andrew today? He’s never gotten involved in these meaningless conversations before.” "Yeah, something’s definitely wrong. Maybe he’s been affected by something," Ouyang Jun said thoughtfully. “Come on, man, admit it. Are you thinking about a girl? Come on, tell us about it. What kind of woman has made the usually stoic Andrew Ni lose his cool?” Mr. Anderson asked, his hand resting playfully on Andrew’s shoulder. Andrew Ni smiled faintly, but his friends fell silent. People only knew him as the “smiling prince,” the heir to the Tengfei Group, with his striking appearance and warm smile. He was the most popular guy at the prestigious school, the literal “campus heartthrob.” Yet those who knew him well understood that his smile often hid a cold, calculating mind. The more he smiled, the more distant and guarded he was. "Guys, enough. Let’s just go," Andrew Ni said calmly, shaking his head. “I heard a rumor,” Mr. Anderson said suddenly. “Our class is getting a transfer student—a girl. I bet she’s just trying to catch the attention of someone important, maybe trying to charm Andrew.” “Ugh, not again. You’re always chasing after women,” Ouyang Jun said with a sigh. “Well, I’m just saying. She’s probably trying to impress Andrew. Anyway, I have to go. Wait up!” Mr. Anderson quickly added, jogging to catch up. “Seriously, I’ve never met anyone so full of themselves. If you don’t hurry up, people will be staring at us like we’re in a zoo,” Ouyang Jun called out, shaking his head at his friend.
