Tipsy had had enough. Watching her best friend cry day after day broke her heart. So one night, she dialed the number from Ethan’s profile and told him to meet her. They met outside, under the glow of streetlights. Ethan leaned against his car, hands in his pockets, looking just as sharp and untouchable as ever. Tipsy crossed her arms. “How much for a month? Or better—how much to make her believe you love her?” Ethan raised an eyebrow, amused. “You serious?” “I’ll pay,” she said firmly. “Just… don’t break her again.” For a moment, his expression softened. But then, a crooked smirk spread across his face. “Fine. If you’ve got the cash, I’ll play your little love game.” Tipsy handed him the envelope. Ethan took it without hesitation, flipping through the bills. Then he chuckled darkly. “Tch. Damn. Your friend must be really dumb, huh? Falling in love with a rental boyfriend? What a joke.” He shook his head, laughing under his breath. “Girls like me and think I’m some fairytale prince. Please. I’m just good at looking expensive… and, well—” he leaned closer with a sly grin—“maybe I’m too good in bed. That’s all it takes.” Tipsy glared. “You’re disgusting.” Ethan only smirked wider. “Nah, sweetheart. I’m just real. Love’s fake, money talks. And if your friend wants a fantasy, then hey—she better keep paying for it.” He shoved the envelope into his jacket pocket, his voice dripping with arrogance. “Tell Lia her ‘boyfriend’ is back. But make sure she knows—I’m not cheap, and I’m definitely not hers.” With that, he slid into his car, revving the engine like the sound itself was a warning. ---
