I gripped the steering wheel of my Phantom, silently navigating the roads back to the Eastern Pack territory. Beside me, Amelia fiddled with the hem of her dress, her nervous energy palpable.
The city lights flickered through the windows, casting fleeting shadows across her delicate profile. Her cheeks, still faintly rosy from our dinner with Marcus, told me she was lost in thought.
The truth was, so was I.
