Chapter 50: Not Untouchable
(Amelia's POV)
The cave was silent apart from the faint drip of water echoing through the narrow passage. I leaned against the damp wall, my arms crossed tightly over my chest. The coolness of the air did little to calm the heat rising in my cheeks.
I silently watched Alexander. He leaned casually against the opposite wall, arms folded, his piercing green eyes focused on me.
“Was that really true about the tunnels?” I finally asked, breaking the silence. My voice sounded louder than I intended, making me wince.
Alexander’s lips quirked into a small smile as his eyes gleamed with quiet amusement. “You mean what I said about tight spaces?”
I nodded, my gaze flickering between his face and the uneven ground beneath us. “Yes. Are you really afraid of the
