My phone buzzed as I settled into bed, the soft glow of the screen illuminating the dark room. The notification showed Connor Hayes’s name—an unexpected sender.
Frowning, I opened the message. It was short and to the point.
“I heard you mated. Congratulations.”
I stared at the screen for a moment, my fingers hovering uncertainly over the keyboard. How did he know? The marking ceremony had been private, confined within Stone Pack territory, and Connor wasn’t someone I usually talked to. Then again, news traveled quickly in werewolf society. He handled disputes and negotiations for multiple packs, so it wasn’t surprising if he’d stumbled across the information.
