I shifted uncomfortably on the hospital bed, folding my arms tightly across my chest. The way Adrian’s piercing steel-gray gaze drilled into me was enough to make my skin crawl. He always had this irritating way of looking at me like he could dissect every thought in my head with just a glance.
“I already told you,” I began, exhaling loudly, “I don’t have any special connection to Amelia.”
Adrian raised one brow slightly, his expression as calm and unreadable as ever. “And yet, you seem to recall every detail about her quite vividly. Healing ceremony, academy days, precise interactions... It’s impressive, even for you.”
