I gripped my phone tightly, staring blankly at the lock screen as the call ended. Dominic’s voice still echoed vibrantly in my mind. "Little healer." His voice wasn’t cold, which threw me. It wasn’t the clipped, dismissive tone he always used. Instead, there was something tender, almost broken, that lingered in the way he said it.
