I take a long blink, taking a step away from her. I don’t know how I managed to toss this bitterness aside for that long moment, but she just had to open her dirty mouth and stir it back. The audacity of her to make me come to her, to beg for my acceptance, when it should have been her on her knees, pleading for the privilege of being my wife,. Of being upgraded to something because, as it stands, she is nothing! I’m irked by her bold stand before me, speaking with so much hate as if she were the one in control of the situation. “Hello, Diana!” I swallow the heat molding within me and greet her with a curt nod, my tone clipped and my demeanor distant. I made no effort to hide my discomfort, my eyes flickering away from hers as I struggled to maintain my composure. But I am damn failing!
