After listening to a bit of their conversation outside that room, I quietly returned to Bree's side, who was still distraught in the kitchen.
"Maybe they'll be a while, they're talking about pack stuff and stuff..." I lie to her, as I don't want to worry her.
"Yeah... They're all like this because of what my dad did" She laments in a whisper.
Bree knows, even if I lie to her, Bree also knows deep down that Evan is not going to give up his revenge and that will make her unhappy. I understand Bree's anguish and I feel just as guilty, I know I said that to encourage her but the thought of Joshua rejecting me for being from the enemy pack made my heart ache.
"It will all pass soon Bree" I hugged the redhead to give her all my support.
