By the time we got home, it was a few minutes past four. Torin was having the time of his life bike riding, I always knew it was his happy place but I wasn't having any of that. So when we reached the compound and he tried to touch me, I slapped his hand and told him not to dare. Before he could respond, I matched into the guest room, slamming the door before realising that Max was already tucked in bed. Thankfully, he only stirred but didnt wake up while I slid under the duvet and held him to sleep. Just before sleep won the fight, I realised Piper wasn't back yet. I was going to call her but stopped myself. She was a grown woman after all.
Three hours later, the sound of the door opening and closing woke me up so fast I barely had time toblink.
