Estela's POV I was almost as stunned as Killian when Eric announced we were engaged. We'd never once discussed telling such a bold lie, but I had to admit, it was effective. Killian looked absolutely livid. No, more than livid. He looked like he might burst a blood vessel. "Excuse me?" he growled. "You heard me," Eric replied smoothly. "We're engaged." Killian's dark eyes zeroed in on my left hand. "Funny, I don’t see a ring," he said sharply. "I have awful taste in jewelry," Eric explained without missing a beat. "I figured Estela would want to pick out her own ring instead of wearing whatever ugly design I chose. We were going to go shopping as soon as she got home, but I missed her too much to wait." "That is so sweet," I said with a fake swoon. "Maybe we can go shopping here."
