Killian couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He never imagined Estela would get him to concede—let alone without a drawn-out battle. Now he was offering to let her take Paisley. But the idea of living with Killian again was overwhelming—especially when she couldn't be sure he'd keep his word.
"Why should I believe you'd actually let her go?" Estela asked, suspicion coloring her voice.
"Because I want what’s best for her," he said gently. "And I’m man enough to admit when I’ve made a mistake."
