Despite all my bravado, my head was actually pounding after dealing with Mia and the reporter. Estela had been so grateful I stepped in that she didn’t complain when I told her I was going to lie down for a bit. Still, I could hear her whispering to Linda just beyond the door.
"What happened?" she murmured.
"Just what he said," Linda replied. "The doctor thought it best for him to rest here for a few days. He mentioned something about too many temptations to jump back into pack business if he went home. Said Killian wouldn’t really rest at the penthouse."
