“Are you seriously going to meet with him tonight?” Nisa asked, trying to persuade me not to, from the way she stared at me.
I smiled. “I would never do that; I mean, come on, what if he’s been followed? Night Haven is the very last place I would want to find myself for any reason.”
“Are you sure about that? Because from all I saw, you didn’t look like one who would just stay put here. Your expression seemed like one who would actually go for him, and I know what I mean when I see desperation; you don’t have to make me believe or get me convinced.”
“What are you talking about Nisa? We have to get back to the Premises and get to know the state of things on the Alpha's health and leave Donald Aeson out of this whole thing.”
