YALA POV
She's meeting Bec right now in a Restaurant. She was heading towards their reserved table when she saw Jai's profile sitting with her parents.
After what happened in the condo with Jai, she doesn't have plans to befriend her. Her slap is still fresh in her mind. Her parents might slap her, but she never allowed other people to do that to her; she was caught off guard, blinded even.
She was determined to ignore them to avoid more complicated things and drama but found her feet heading towards their table as if she was magnetized.
"Hey, Jai." She just realized that the best revenge she could give Jai for slapping her is by annoying her.
"What are you doing here?" She could sense her rudeness, but that can't stop me. In fact, it just challenges me more.
"Don't be rude, Jai." Oh wow, her Dad sounded scary! But indeed, mine is scarier.
She had just found a way to get under Jai's skin! She's laughing inside, and now she's having fun!
As the conversation with Jai's parents progressed, she learned more about Jai. I'm kinda jealous, seeing that they have a close relationship in contrast to my parents. She actually didn't expect Jai's parents to be this nice. It was her first time meeting them face to face.
Getting on Jai's nerves was my mission tonight.
She was still enjoying her time when she saw Bec at the entrance, so she decided to leave.
As she approaches Jai to kiss her cheek, she doesn't have a plan to, but she thought that it'd trigger her more, so why not do it right?
"Chill, Jai." She told her playfully.
"I'll kill you!" Jai is already raging like a bull.
"Oh wow, I'm so scared." She teased her more. It's more enjoyable this way.
She headed towards the entrance to get Bec; chivalry is still not dead!
"Hey, I'm so sorry for being late as I got stuck in the traffic." Bec immediately told her.
It's fine. She had fun anyway.
"Hey." She greeted her back.
"Did you wait for long?" she asked with concern.
"It's okay. I didn't wait for long." She smiled at her and then led her to their table.
They met again at the same bar the following day after their first meeting, thus agreeing to go out to pat things up.
"OMG!" Bec is squealing like a teenager who has just seen her crush.
"What is it?" Her eyes
are focused on the menu. She's actually starving.
"The Harlows are here too!" Bec sounded so excited.
"Ahh, so?" This girl is being so weird.
"They are like legends in the fashion industry!" Looking at her, Bec looked shocked; maybe she thought I knew nothing. Whatever floats her boat.
Bec said further. "They only have one daughter but aren't exposed to the media."
That may be the reason why she didn't recognize Jai before.
"Wow, you're well informed," she said amusingly.
"Of course, nothing gets past me, and it's the Harlows we're talking about." Bec grinned.
"Just choose so we can order, as I'm starving." She gave her a warm smile.
"Wanna eat something different later?" Now Bec is focusing on her entirely.
"Try me." She grabs Bec's hand on top of the table and caresses it.
Bec didn't get the chance to answer when someone spoke on her back. Cliche. She already knows who's behind.
"Hey, friend!" She was not wrong when Jai stood by her side.
"Didn't know you could flirt like that!" Jai continued while chuckling.
She suddenly let go of Bec's hand, feeling so guilty that she got caught.
Jai leans down on her chair and reaches for her ears, but it looks like she's just greeting an old friend.
"Payback is a b***h!" Jai whispered in her ears, then stood up straight.
Oh, lady, you couldn't just shake Yala Lewis like that. You could try harder.
"Didn't know it was flirting; it's just my natural charm." She wanted to annoy me in return for her intrusion earlier? Then I'll give her a dose of her own medicine.
"Hey?" Bec spoke, sounded so agitated. I thought she knew the Harlows, but why didn't she seem to know Jai?
"Jai, this is Bec, and Bec, this is Jai." She couldn't do anything but introduce them.
Bec offered her hand to Jai, but Jai pretended not to see it.
And here she thought Jai was excellent, but she acted like a kid, to her dismay! She feels Bec's humiliation.
"So this is the date you've been discussing, huh." Jai still stood while eyeing Bec.
"As you could see." Why did I even approach her earlier, Haist!
"Nice dress." Bec looked Jai up and down as if scrutinizing her.
"Only the best for me," Jai said smugly.
She was waiting for Jai to return Bec's appreciation, but she didn't. She was more admirable when we met, but I don't know what to say now.
Bec didn't answer her anymore. Yeah, just let it be Bec. Jai has already burned her twice tonight. That's enough for her.
Jai is wearing a Roll Detail Dress LV that perfectly highlights her curves paired with Saint Laurent's Opyum Open-Toe Pumps in Suede and Rhinestones high heel sandals, making her height even more noticeable. And yes, she looks pretty in it.
"Be careful, she bites." Eyebrows arched, she warned Bec.
As if I ever did something to her. As if!
Jai had already turned her back, but she stopped on her track and looked back, saying, "Anyway, I had the best time with you last Friday night." Then she winked.
She's unbelievable! And really, in front of her date?
"What a bitch." She heard Bec mutter under her breath. And yes, she was right; what a b***h!
She still couldn't move on with how Jai slapped her!
They had a good start, but it turned out sour. We could have been friends but found ourselves in this mess. We added up as if the feud between our families wasn't enough.
"So you slept with her, huh." Bec's voice was laced with disappointment.
"It's not what you think of, but yes, we slept together." She doesn't want to explain more, so she just lets her be.
"Ahh, that's why." Bec suddenly changed her mood.
It's not as if she will have a relationship with her. Bec is just one of the many that she got involved with.
"Hmm," was all she could muster.
"Anyway, your condo is just near the Hideout, right?" Bec inquired.
"Just a few doors down, actually," she replied.
"Where exactly? I also live near there." now it seems like Bec is interested in me again.
"In The Platinum at 46th Street," she answered simply; she didn't ask her back because she was sure she wouldn't meet her again.
She has this rule to not be with women twice. She agreed to go out with Bec today as they never did anything during their first meeting.
"Wow, that's really nice!" Bec squealed excitedly.
"It is nice," she said.
"So wanna head there after eating?" Bec became flirtatious again.
"It's fine for me," she grinned.
She doesn't care about Bec's intentions because she's out of my life after tonight, and that's for sure.
